To begin, let me ask you a question. What are the purpose of vehicles?
I think we can agree that the blaster hav with dispersion and heat sink mods serves as our Heavy Attack Vehicle, made to suppress the enemy, right? If so, then we can also agree that missile and railguns havs are meant to destroy them or clear out installations and other vehicles. Obviously there not always used in that manner, but we can assume that that is somewhat there sole purpose. Now moving on.
What purpose do lavs serve? I think we can say that they are mostly QUICK transport vehicles to get from point to point. They do not live to what they are called, Light Assault Vehicles.
And dropships. What purpose do dropships serve? Mainly transport. They are mostly seen at the beginning of matches but then disappear. As for assault dropships, they appear to manage to kill 1-5 enemies before they disappear from av. I will give ideas that can help all of these vehicles with a simple thing- maps.
The maps in dust (skirmish and domination, maybe aquisition) are made to be accessible by foot. Anyone can reach them, but what if we change that?
What if, let's say a skirmish map has its objectives in different places, places that are only assessable by dropship, or by a long lav ride? Well, by doing so, we can improve the vehicle experience. For example, let's say there is an actual mountain in a map, 3 objectives are in the ground, and one is on top of the mountain. The quickest and most efficient way to each that objective is to fly a dropship up there. You could go the longer way and drive an lav around the whole mountain to reach it, or be crazy and sprint the way up, taking you 5-10 minutes.
Doing so, you give a better purpose and usage for, in this specific case, dropships. To improve assault dropships , I think making them slower and adding more hp will do the trick. They can deal good damage but are glass.
Next, lavs. One shoring lavs is fun for av, but crappy for the driver. To improve their usage, add more roads in maps and deep areas like valleys that are quickly accesable by lavs. Next, INCREASE THEIR (..................) HP. I believe that an lav should at least be able to take ONE direct hit by a pro plasma cannon without any plates or extenders. Doing so will make them better. Next, I think the best way to make them LIGHT ASSAULT VEHICLES would be to give them a turret dage bonus per level. And I mean a high damage bonus. Make it so that it's worth skilling into lvl 5 lav. This is simple.
Lastly, havs. They are in my opinion, almost balanced tier wise. But this post is about improving the experience with maps, so here goes nothing.
Havs, being the prime force of vehicle attacks, have easy access to almost all areas of maps. How can we make them work their way through to objectives? How about adding more turrets to maps, or making the land harder for havs to go through? They can escape av very quickly. Adding more vehicle barriers in maps can help. Make the work towards their objectives. And yes that will affect me a lot.
Anyways, the most important part here is to improve dropship experience by providing objectives not accesable by foot. Sorry for any errors in here, I did this in my phone.
