Evidently my Aur to ISK idea was bad. I'll admit it was horrible. Possibly worse. BUT, I have created (hopefully) a counter to its disgusting nature - A TAX.
Originally, I made this tax for something else. Behind the stabbing, assassinating, overkilling and trolling, I'm a pretty nice guy. I wanted to start selling basic to prototype weapons, suits, equipment and modules for a lower price. Unfortunately, nice guys don't make a profit, so I had to create an unfair-ish tax to make sure I make money. How can I make DUST514 worse? Taxes.
Specifically this one; The Meta Tax. Below is the formula for figuring out the tax.
MT = ( S ( m% -+ ( n -+ ( S / ( m% -+ 100,000 ) ) ) ) )
MT is the total tax PER ITEM being bought S is the amount of ISK used to buy one of the item your selling (before tax) m is the meta level of the item! :D n is how many of the item is being being bought
To give you an idea of how it works, I'll use the price of a standard scout suit: 3000 ISK. I have to lower the price of the market version so you will be tempted to buy it. So now its ehhh 2250 ISK. The meta level of a standard scout suit is 1, but don't worry it still works. So one standard scout suit, plus meta tax, equals 2300.625 ISK. If you wanted to buy idk 50, then the meta tax will increase! :D
S / ( m% -+ 100,000 ) is how you find out how much the tax will change. This little formula bit changes the meta.
Example:
2250 / ( .1 -+ 100,000 ) = .225
To simplify everything, the example above adds to the meta level percentage, which is the meta level put into a percentage. So, meta level 1 = 10% (.1). And meta level 7 = 70% (.7). So for every 1 standard scout suit you buy, the meta level basically goes up .225, which changes the whole equation.
I think...its very complicated.
So 50 standard scout suits would be:
( 2250 ( .1 -+ ( 50 -+ ( 2250 / ( .1 -+ 100,000 ) ) ) ) ) ( 2250 ( .1 -+ ( 50 -+ ( .225 ) ) ) ) ( 2250 ( .1 -+ ( 11.25 ) ) ) ( 2250 ( 1.125 ) ) ( 2531.25 ) 2531.25 ISK each 126,562.5 total
The total tax for buying 50 is +281.25 ISK each. No, this still doesn't get me a profit, but I can shove the math in your face!
Now when it comes to AURUM trading, I think I can fix the craziness of my last idea by combining these two. Lol.
Lets say I wanted to buy a Roden G-1 Scout BPO. I already covered why 1 AUR equals 345 ISK, so I won't go into that. Now, alone this BPO should cost 8,211,000 ISK! But, because that is apparently not fair for anyone, you can add the meta tax to it. The meta may only be one, but with the whole tax it should end up being...
674,205,210 isk...
Is that fair? I don't think it is. .-.
I'm more bark then bite...sometimes...
