On Titanfall, they let hackers play the game, but they are moved to a special server. So you get to play with all insta-headshot peeps. Man that must be fun!

I want that extra memory going to support large battles with 100+ players, large variety of models, rich maps (with deep canyons, water, caves, bridges over high cliffs, etc.), great performance, etc.
Planetside 2 is already able to run at *ultra* settings and it does have massive battles, rich maps (with deep canyons, water, caves, bridges over high cliffs, etc.) etc. So, I don't think the problem will ever be the platform nor the memory (at least, not for 6-7 years from now).
They should find something peculiar, like procedural assets generation based on distance from the sun, gravity, Faction that colonized the planet etc. Or something different that would actually make the game unique, in order for it to be a general success. They could get some ideas from NMS, actually, and make a better game...
anyway this is mere speculation. The truth is that there will never be a ps4 project for Dust or something similar.

Well PS2 recycles a lot of models. They also have a huge development team that can optimize the hell out of the game. I'd rather CCP be VERY conservative with the graphics and only ratchet them up if the performance doesn't take a hit. I want plenty of room for content expansion down the road so we don't ever run into the problems we have now with not being able to add more vehicle/weapon models.
Best PvE idea ever!

Theres an old Dust 514 beta advertisement that shows a Dust 514 as more like battlefield with its gritty texture and filthy terrain. After being hit during a sprint to the front lines you can hear your clone trying to breath slowly to calm himself, your commander updating you to beware of heavy armour and front line sniper teams. Your CRU desended from obit on pillars of fire and a large instalation unleashes an anti-ship energy weapon. Now it seems more like sun shine and buttercups. Why they never bothered with the gears of war texture style on the unreal engine is beyond me but its certainly something they might want to think about when creating Legion.
It's quite simple really, Crows feed on corpses, and i make a lot of corpses.

Aero Yassavi wrote:To be fair, as a long time fan and money supporter of Dust, I wouldn't want it to debut on PS4 until we have actual player trading windows, tested and balanced Amarr/Min vehicles, more than two breech weapons, and more involved FW and more interesting PC mechanics. You only get one shot at a debut.
I just fair we won't make it to that point any time soon. It's really not that much stuff either when you really think about it. If only CCP was willing to invest in this some more. That's only the beginning of what we need to not flop on PC or PS4....
We need movement and terrain/object interactions that work.
We need an immersive NPE tute that is completely embedded in New Eden and gives players a hands-on safe intro to all of Dust's battle systems and mechanics.
We need a link to tranquility that loads the team roster, market, menus in one second, not 10.
We need a full suite of corp tools that allow CEOs & directors to manage corp activities without burning them out.
We need to solve the elite players/ringers lobby shooter asymmetry.
We need squad tools and a HUD-integrated voicecomm system.
We need hit detection, aim assist and netcode brought into this decade.
We need PvE that is meaningfully integrated into PvP and EVE.
We need a flexible and robust contract system to integrate the PvP/PvE playerbase and drive user-generated content. We also need it to integrate seamlessly with EVE.
We need an engine and an implementation of that engine that will support a minimum of 64v64 on PS4, more if on PC. CCP won't be able to do anything with this piece of kittenpoop until they get their engine in order.
Some of this is on Rattati's Trello, some of it isn't, but to re-launch with out all of this in place is foolish, in exactly the same way as fixing PC without fixing framerate first is foolish.
There's more, but that's enough for the game to be considered a hot new thing upon debut, and allow CCP's reputation to crawl up into the sunlight out of the stanky hole in which it currently dwells.

ps4 offers a great low level API which allows you to run great looking games on it. it just has to be used (see no mans sky or uncharted 4 gameplay) |

Valkyrie gameplay is currently on computers with way higher specs than the ps4... Which is part of the reason why Dust won't be on PS4. Let's repeat 2 things for the 100th time: Dust is never going to leave the PS3: it's getting a name change to Eve: Legion Legion will be on PC, and there are no plans for porting it to PS4 because Sony is getting in the way of CCP.
Sony is getting in the way of CCP? Pretty sure CCP is getting in the way of CCP

Pretty sure CCP is getting in the way of CCP CCP has enough on their own without needing Sony to double check everything they do, and making regular client-side patches impossible. Sony is an un-needed bottleneck.
