Title says it all, the HMG is really underpowered now, can't kill anything that's more than 10 feet away from me, and not running a militia suit. The common argument is that the HMG is meant for CQ Defense, but how can anybody defend anything with an HMG???? Seriously, you have more luck running double smg's than using an HMG. I can't be the only one who sees this, thoughts???

That's the problem, why is it that i need run to them, and get into shotgun range, while using a "Defensive" weapon, to get the kill. Hell, as a heavy, running up to someone is already a problem itself.

I feel that the hmg Is almost useless right now after several nerfs. And don't get me wrong I know how to use it and get kills with it, the issue is that it overheats on big enemies making it like 1 or 2 kills and overheat.
I usually use the ar or smg inside the cities and they can beat the hmg users pretty easy and trying to get close to enemies is really hard even in cq, the proof is that I kept at range 2 heavies with one dragonfly scout and they weren't able to get me, just because of that I got them. It "works" in PC if ppl rush with them, otherwise they are just a great Av unit.
After several nerfs I don't see many players using them because they sux, and the ones that use them usually die really easy because heavies can't run :] [just my opinion, (hint, use a light weapon instead, that works way better, and better than a commando 2, just keep "range")] wonder if ppl will do the same after scr nerf. :)

Exactly, funny that you say if people will still use Sent. with light weapons after Scr.nerf, cause i use Scr. with sentinel :P. It doesn't make sense either, it's a freaking minigun for god's sake.

If you use the different types for what they are designed for then they seem to be just right. I do agree about the range. I still find it odd that the bullets must tumble out of the barrel and scatter off into the void when range to target increases. Then again it is a Minmatar weapon. It is probably just shooting chunks of scrap metal.

I know the AHMG needs a dispersion fix so it can hit at range. Burst doesn't seem to have changed much, and I think the range reduction for the base HMG only capped the optimal, which it never really hit anyway because of dispersion, at the point where dispersion renders it virtually useless.

Still fail to see how you got the officer HMG........ I love it when scouts try to range me lol.

When I played for the event it was amazing, was hard to overheat, had a good range and damage, after all I'm able to use any weapon in a "master" lvl, I just don't like that it received 2 nerfs in overheat 1 in range and 1 in damage.
It is actually usable, but u need a logi or know where the enemy is, I usually play solo, so it isn't the best option right now, assaults can perform everything pretty well. In other words right now I prefer an assault instead of a heavy and as I said do not get me wrong, I have killed a lot of guys with the hmg. The issue is that it needs basically all its modules to play solo(base hp tank, thing that usually is bad) and most of the times is more about moving, because its range sux. I can go like 30/2 almost every match with it (but is more about chasing instead of defending as intended).

I love my Burst HMG. The others not so much. I gave up trying to figure out the assault hmg. just doesn't work for me. and the regular is quite difficult to manage heat. The HMG is still an AWESOME weapon, but i also agree that there may have been a slight too many nerfs to it.
I don't like two-legged things.

ive adapted and succeded with my relatively same militia only playstyle for a very long time through al the nerfs and buffs and everything but now. thats at its end. game turned into cod pretty much. theres no adapting in that.
i find it funny how an "unbalanced game" is more fun to play than most "balanced" twitch shooter games. its stupid really.
screw the idea of balance.
there will never been any balance until the game mechanic exploits are fixed.
the only good shooters are the orignal 2 star wars battle front games.
if only we could pilot the mcc.
id end the matches real quick.

It's viable, but only in a max-CQC map. Then it's pretty much the same as it was before. Like the orbital artillery socket.
There's never enough sh**posting going on, so let's add a few more teaspoons of the guy posting after me to the recipie!

I can't be the only one who sees this, thoughts??? The AHMG has been fixed. Use that for open maps. The normal HMG still works fine the Research Facility and other urban environments. I think the damage Nerf hurt the HMG more that the range nerf, especially now that we have a viable long range HMG.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

If u play with a certain amount of lag and against some assaults, battles 1vs1 are impossible to them, Is pretty easy to kill them with the famous fit "asspeedy shotguner" i think the damage at least should be beast at cqc, maybe the range should stay as it is because ar Users had a lot of problems, but the damage should be increased and the heat build up reduced a little bit. (the hmg should be the king at cqc)

King At CQC jahas been the source of too many headachea. While I understand where you're coming from, I think the sentinel should be a firefight champion and more vulnerable to fast-movers in close.
Kinda like how the laser rifle is a suppression weapon. It's not something you want to stick around and 1v1 the thing at range.
I'd like sentinels to be the big "no tresspassing" warning rather than seeing them as a CQC instablap.
