They're stupid.
It literally took me 1 year to get to rank 7, even with AUR.
My 8 month old alt is STILL at rank 0.
How are new players supposed to trade if they need to basically buy something to unlock the feature?

Yeah, I thought it was gonna make it like EvE, so a day one character can earn some ISK items (or w/e) then trade them for AUR gear without having to spend a penny IRL - that's why I tried EvE, because it only cost me ISK to keep my subscription open (S/O to Gyn Wallace and Kain Spero for making that happen BTW).
This restriction is stupid and only in place because the previous DEV team had no foresight whatsoever.
I currently have 3 Templar sets and 150mil ISK stuck in limbo because my ALTs can't (ever) trade - no I am not buying my way to LR4 on 4 more accounts! I have spent enough on this account to get LR4 on 5 accounts already!

Simple: They are not.
I brought this up the day of the update, questioning why it had to be LR4 instead of LR1.
I kept receiving the same invalid reasons.
What I think: $$$$ is all they need.

When CCP enables the AUR Daily bonus you can get to level 4 faster (if you login daily).
You won't get any LP for buying AUR, but you will get LP for spending it.
3 AUR (x1 Warbarge Component) = 2 LP.

Here's the catch, you don't need to purchase any AUR, just spend it. Meaning, if you spend the free ones that'll be released soon, you may get there for free after some time. |

Merc Pack ensures a rank 4. Comes with ~25k AUR.
So let's say you need 35k because you get a booster and two BPO's with that. Everyday you get 10 AUR. That's 3500 days of consecutive logins. No thanks.

free trials in eve can only do a limited amount of stuff.. and train a limited amount of stuff..
who cares u can buy sub with isk, someone somewhere still paid for you..just like how someone somewhere is paying for you to cry about this
