I'm not one to QQ and Rage but this just pisses me off.
I finally got enough money to purchase AUR. I went to go to use my card, but because my account was set up in the US and my card is from NZ, it wouldnt go through.
Tried to swtich my account from US to NZ, not allowed. So I call the call center. To quote them: "It is physically impossible for us to change your region code." They didn't even ask me for my account details or anything.
So the only way for me to purchase AUR is to set up a new PSN, which would be fine if I could transfer my toons, but that's also "physically impossible" according to Sony.
So because of that I'm done with Sony. I'll keep playing Dust but if it transfers to PS4, don't expect to see me there.

I have a Japan account, and a Euro account also. Same thing for me, but those were just for beta keys for other games , so didn't require or ever intend to spend on them. |

PSN cards are avalible but they are region locked to NZ accounts.
Havnt tried PayPal yet, but if it works it won't change my mind. Sony customer service f*cked me off more than once, this is the last straw

ahhh, had no idea PSN cards were region locked.. kinda glad now I never bought that bundle of them off ebay. It never mentioned a region. Well , best way to stik it to a business you dislike..is to stop the flow of money, so do what you feel you gotta do. That does suck though :\
if it were like standad DLC, you could make a new account for that region , and it share for all accounts on that system..unfortunately, it don't work that way with Dust |

I'll keep playing dust until it transfer. If it goes to PC then I'll keep playing but if not then I'll trade in for an Xbox One.

That is some major BS. You can't return the card? Or worst case you could probably sell your card for what you got for it. Then buy a pre-paid credit card and use that.
Hope it works out.

If you get a paypal you can just send the money to someone in the US and have them grab you a prepaid card.
Alternatively, you can buy PSN codes online for any region.
Sorry to hear you got stuck in this situation. It is actually fairly common for some reason that I do not understand. Why people set up for regions that they do not live in may have some valid reasons but I can not think of any. There are cases where people move and I think Sony should take this into account to allow for region to be switched after a verification process to make sure it is being done by the actual owner of the account.

Well there's two reasons why people do it. The first is that they lived in the region that its locked and then move to another country as is my case (I lived in the US for 10 years).
The second reason is the price. Here in NZ a new game can easily cost $100+ where in the US it costs $50-$60. Hell, AUR is cheaper in the US than here.

The first I had accounted for.
The price difference you point out is pretty incredible. I suppose this just forces the customer to either get beat up on the prices of change the money to US currency for Sony. Thanks for the info. |

We use to sell synthetic cannibis because it was decriminalized, until they found out it was pretty much watered down meth.
As for other drugs, they are all illegal yet a cop in my town won't arrest you for smoking a bong as long as you arnt selling.
Prostituion is decriminalized. I sh*t you not you can find a $50 hooker in the classifieds section of the new paper.

When I was stationed in Germany they had a brothel called the Atlantis. Smoking hot chicks walking around in nothing but high heels. 60 Euro to get in and 50 to bang bang.
After a two week field exercise I spent 410 Euro, do the math, it was amazing. The place had indoor and outdoor pools, I think there's a Wilipedia page about it.

60 to get in, yet 50 to get your jollies... interesting
I find that **** weird as hell too where it's perfectly fine to sell your body, and possibly end up dead in a dumpster..but many smaller things , such as smoking a little pot , or driving with out a license will get you jail time. They are actually debating on making it legal here in my state like they do in Nevada, with the whole registered card thing.. wtf, these damn bible humpin pricks fought years to keep out our lotto, and yet they say much to nothing against this lol.. guess I know who will be the first to use such services. |

Compared to the UK , Computer parts seem cheaper, food and clothing is definitely cheaper. Fuel (petrol / diesel) is much cheaper.......* sigh's * I hear Maine is a lot like rural England, can I move over? lol

From my limited time in the US and with my limited understanding, it seems as if damn near most things are cheaper in the good old USA. Compared to the UK , Computer parts seem cheaper, food and clothing is definitely cheaper. Fuel (petrol / diesel) is much cheaper.......* sigh's * I hear Maine is a lot like rural England, can I move over? lol
Cheaper yes, but their average wage is about $40k per year and the minimum wage is akin to slave labour. |

I finally got enough money to purchase AUR. I went to go to use my card, but because my account was set up in the US and my card is from NZ, it wouldnt go through.

Edit: The Amazon fix worked, and can now purchase AUR. Thanks Thor for suggesting it. Also thanks to those who tried to give me ideas to get around this.
In saying that, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth concerning Sony so I won't be getting a PS4 anytime in the foreseeable future. Same problem here in Iceland.
