Bug - Loss of all character avatars/names in custom made, alliance, corp, squad and local chat channels. You can still see the things players type in the chat channels and their name appears above the text, but the left column shows no players until you restart the game.
How to - Seems the best way to replicate the bug is to go into a custom chat channel, create a squad and then try to interact with a character avatar by either sending invites or show info. Not everyone seems to suffer from this, but it seems to be happening a bit. I've suffered twice from this already today.

That was explained in the patch notes for WB1.1 as a performance improvement. Removing accessing all the avatars (Pod Peeps from EVE being the worst, I suspect) makes chat faster. Therefor less of a load overall. Therefor faster game play.
Hopefully. A step in the right direction. No mercenary needs to see pod peeps anyway. 
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.

No, they couldn't have meant this, at least not without being able to turn it off. Every chat channel avatar disappears and you cannot get it back without resetting. It makes squading up more difficult and annoying especially when preparing for Planetary Conquest matches. And it's almost random.

Well, after playing the game you are right.
Also, post this on the feedback on WB 1.1 thread. A separate bug report will not gain much attention until the 1.1 list gets whittled down.

A few other people have gotten this one so far it seems. Appears to be caused by simply joining a match, but I believe they're working on it. Pretty sure you've just got to squad up before jumping into any games, though further testing is required.
