Should absolutely not be advertized to the public at this point in time.....but soon(1-2 more patches and a couple of hotfixes) it absolutely should be advertised to EVE players again.
Darth & crew's great trailer coupled with the Rattpacks work over the past year is prolly enough to make some of the EVE peeps take a second look and stick around.

Too late to do that, Skill difference between noobs and scrubs are too high, "normal" people will just leave.
Match making doesn't solve this, gear based matchmaking might work!

Heard plenty of reports to the contrary, particularly of note was Joel's about his friend (cousin?).
Sounds like it is working as intended, even if imperfect.

This, 100% this.
CCP made a big speech about how they couldn't do what they wanted unless it was on PC. People who play EVE are invested in New Eden and have computers. How many are going to buy a 8 and a half year old console to play a single game, even if they are fanatical to EVE?
CCP missed their chance to advertise DUST. Doing it now is pointless. SKINS, new BPO's, player trading, and updated Planetary Conquest only serves the person already invested into the game and has zero appeal for the new player. They might as well save their funds to put into DUST/Legion/anything else and advertise later if they have something big to show, like "PC/PS4 transition" big.

I agree. This game is not ready for new players. They'll just leave after playing a few matches after the academy. I rather wait for a establish pve And meta level matches.

Well, I have been playing Eve since 2007 and I did buy a Ps3 1.5 yrs ago with the sole purpose of playing Dust 514. Don't I look stupid....
I have even sold my Ps3 to quit playing Dust but 5 months later I bought another one, stupid right?
All in all, CCP knows how to fudge up but somehow they keep dragging me back. |

Then they start telling thier eve friends about how **** and broken this game is and now all of a sudden you have a bunch of neckbeards rallying for Dust for pc!

That's like saying "the people on the sinking ship say they can't swim and we are just supposed to have life vests?!" There is more than one reason for the game to migrate to a different platform beyond just "EVE players.

It just bothers me when a eve player tries dust and then complain that its to hard, they can't kill anyone, the graphics suck, new player tutorials arent even useful... HOW THE HELL DO YOU THINK EVE FEELS LIKE TO A NEW PLAYER? Any way yadayadayada

To the responders itt: the point of putting together some material for EVE wouldn't be to convince PC players to buy a PS3 in 2015, nor would it be to try and bump up Dust's numbers.
A vid showcasing the current state of Dust would just be a reminder that the game isn't dead and that progress is being made. Something that communicates that new systems and gameplay are being added to the game and that old problems are being addressed, along with the idea that these systems and gameplay were eventually destined for a new platform, perhaps even their platform.
Just enough to keep EVE aware that the ground war in New Eden isn't over yet. There are a significant number of EVE players out there who think the game is no longer under development. A little spark of heat on the EVE forums won't do Dust any harm at all.
That being said there are better things for our devs to spend their time on, and it wouldn't be worth doing anyway for a couple of patches. All that notwithstanding, the idea that progress is being made on the game should be pushed a bit harder on the EVE front because the opinions of that playerbase do have a bearing on the future development of Dust.
