With trading commencing tomorrow, and assuming Strongboxes will eventually be tradeable, what ISK value would you place on a strongbox, given the lucky dip nature of what's inside?

Right now they're worth nothing.
They are too common and keys are rare and kind of over priced.

With the new "1 in every 10 guaranteed" thing, I'd say 1/10th of whatever an officer weapon is worth, since that will still be most of the "rare" drops anyways. Because it could be any officer weapon, maybe like 1/20th or 1/50th
I usually value officer weapons at about 200k-1 million.
So I would be willing to pay about 10-20k per box, but never more than 50k unless CCP was giving out keys like candy.
100k is way too much, but then again that's for the market to decide since there is a pretty good chance of getting a BPO worth millions...you have to realize some of these boxes are obtainable from getting 10 kills or whatever, and some people literally have over 1000 of them, so there will of course be people willing to get rid if them for cheap.

Irrespective, I would argue that they are worth something, given that they will contain gear worth anywhere from a few thousand to tens of millions, market depending.
Wouldn't be surprised to see a few people offering a handful of ISK per strongbox. If they have the opportunity to open them, and the other person does not, it makes sense on both sides.

I would say about 50K for the box, 150K for the key.
The average strongbox gives me about 150k ISK worth of goodies (if the contents are sold from assets), but they can be worth much more.

I think a key would be worth somewhere around 500k- 1 million ISK.

I have about a 1000 spare which I will never open...
My weapons lab produces enough officer and experimental gear in a week, I will never have to open another salvage box again. |
