There's many valid reasons to still have them, especially if/when we move to a better platform and we are able to have larger maps. New ingame assets won't happen anytime soon for Dust on PS3 anyways due to memory limits, so we'll just have to wait.

Would you agree that SD's health should be reduced, and shooting at a SD should lower HP's from spawn at SD's? Because that's only fair.

Also, I believe they are meant not to be shot at.
Well, They are, by high alpha weapons in groups. Otherwise, it's more sensible to just shoot at the vehicle it's carrying.

If yo can shoot at the RDV and down it, it often times flips or kills the vehicle, so kill two birds with one stone.

Couldn't they just use the recalling animation (when the vehicle disappears) and just reverse it, so it appears? They can keep the sound effect, and have it appear a few feet off the ground to prevent any terrain glitches.
There would still need to be an installation that does all of this, which doesn't exist.

Looks something like this?Ignoring priorities like framerate, surely CCP has the manpower to reverse the animation so it materializes vehicles the same way it dematerializes them, doing away with the RDV entirely, right?
Yes, I know the animation, that's not the point. There's no installation model, or any code to allow for any of this yet, and would need to be built, as well as having enough space to support multiple people spawning in vehicles.
