If current trends continue, would it be possible to consider the positive and negative effects of gear inflation? If tiericide is implemented to some degree, I don't thing this will be too much of an issue, but we're seeing more people run proto, experimental, & officer gear.
I worry that if left unchecked that this could become a pretty negative long-term trend for the game.
Thoughts?

If metalevels lockout is implemented and matchmaking divides by tiers it is a positive thing. Let people run their best stuff against others doing the same.
If it goes back to the way it was, vets against noobs, well, it will be like it was only worse.

well, as more people gain higher levels of total SP, they will have more proto level gear unlocked, so yeah, it makes sense that you'd see more proto over time, and with warbarges letting you make experimental and officer at a slow but constant rate, you will see more of those being used too. |
