The Scouts used to do a marvelous job dropping uplinks. Then someone at CCP decided to take this role away from them and give it to Logi-¦s. I still don-¦t understand why..

Guess they wanted more frontline uplinks.
If you look at the premade fittings, they like putting uplinks on assaults, which is what I do now.

I don't have to worry about links or hives in a CORSY squad, ever, and that is priceless. Honestly, I think proto eq is infinitely more valuable than proto weapons and suits.

But links, it is what, 5 less seconds? Sometimes all the links have 3 second timers.

The main bonus to getting Proto links is being able to drop more, bandwidth permitting of course.

The bulk of this community have a very selfish outlook on life in general so I don't expect much anymore. They play as individuals, and could care less about you, or winning for that matter. It's a shame that we have to have them on our teams. They raised the SP cap so players could catch up and spec in, but they still just don't have the drive.
Go into battles 6 deep and knowing that your squad is all you got. o7

They can stick those uplinks on pretty much what they like but replacing 2 years of gaming skills as a Drop-Uplink Scout is harder.
The uplink was, is and will always be most suited for Scouts.

Caldari Scout - use range bonus, precision mods, and dampeners to locate the red blob and then place uplink in a safe position behind them. Have your team ambush the blob.
Gallente Scout - Use dampeners to make a nest of uplinks on a hostile objective while undetected. Hack and wait for backup.
Minmatar Scout - stack Myrofibs and lay uplinks in ridiculous and high places where the enemy can't reach.
