So first off, a big thank you for the flagship features! Visual customization, new game modes, Matchmaking, and player-trading have been needed for a long time now. Very, very happy to have 'em!
All-in-all, a lot of great work here and really impressed with how much is in this patch.
Comments on a few particulars:
Quote:"The GÇ£Show InfoGÇ¥ menu on a Skill now displays all the items unlocked by that Skill and at which Skill Level" Beautiful! The absence of this has been one of the biggest hang-ups to Dust's progression system.
Quote:[Size grouping and Meta sorting across windows.] All-in-all a great improvement to Loadout/gear UI usability. A note though, in-match it's very handy to have certain Loadouts grouped together (which we've been doing through naming). Down the line, we should add the folder system for saved Loadouts that players have been requesting.
(BTW, are we calling Fittings "Loadouts" now? Not complaining, just wondering if we need to start updating guides/wikis.)
Quote:"To improve performance Character Avatar thumbnails will be removed from the client in certain locations." Perhaps this has already been addressed, but while this is a great improvement in most situations, I'll echo other's sentiment that we do need someway to easily identify whether a player is a merc or a capsuleer. At the very least in the "Accept Member to Corp" UI. We don't want a return to the days of pilots doing CEO-takeover scams with no way to avoid it Dust-side.
My only negative:Quote:"...and implementing the following downtime jobs
* Deleting all emails older than 30 days from all players * Deleting all chat channels that have not been used in 7 days" Please please please make this optional! My (and pretty much everybody's) history in New Eden is stored in the mail. I am very happy dropping a frame or two if I can preserve the history of who I've met and what we've accomplished together.
We know where the "Delete all mail," button is. We would have pushed it a long time ago if it was something we wanted to do.
Putting this another way: I don't need CCP "helping me out" by going into my room when I'm away and tidying up by burning all my old love-letters.
BTW, cool feature hidden in patch notes:
Quote:"Miniature Jump Portals have been placed into a few Academy Maps to shorten the distance to strategic objectives quicker and easier for new players." Rad! |
