Of having to open useless thread because people are still able to steal vehicles.

Oh boy, you don't need to get out of the vehicle, they can steal it with you inside.

like in EvE so in dust, what I mean is you shouldnt bring anything into the battlefield without expecting it to be a loss anything you manage to still have by the end of the match should be considered part of the loot
if you can't afford to lose it don't even bring it out in the first place, this isn't necessarily aimed at anyone just general knowledge
I've played EVE trial and nobody stole my assets, even when i jumped many systems away from where most of my stuff was stored. Lose your stuff because the enemy destroy it, is fine, lose your stuff because some of your allies steal it is not fine. All the arguments in defense of this theory are lame, this is just not how the rest of the game treat assets.

Vyzion Eyri wrote:The question is if your vehicle is abandoned in the middle of the battlefield, do you want teammates to be able to take it and MAYBE cause more damage, or the enemy to hack it and hinder your team?
If you pick the former, then the question becomes "how limited do you want your team to be in accessing your vehicle, whilst still being able to save a vehicle?"
Add vehicle locks and before you know it, the same people who want vehicle locks will probably get vocal about getting frustrated about how vehicle locks are preventing you from getting into a teammate's tank and driving it away before enemies blow it up or hack it.
One solution is vehicle locks that only 'unlock' when the original pilot is dead. But then what about calling in vehicles for squad / team mates?
It might not be working as intended as Soraya says, but I doubt there is a good solution either. If it were so bleeding obvious, this thread wouldn't be here and a suggestion would be in the Feature sub-forum.
This is all about ownership, ownership of the vehicle never changes and i think that is the main problem about locking DRIVER seat. If i call a vehicle, it's because i have to pilot it, i've bought it. I can't access the dropsuit fitting of my friends just because they are my friends, with vehicles it should be the same. If you abandon it, the risk is yours, i support the idea of hacking to change ownership, that is actually a good mechanic, but with driver seat lock too.
Vyzion Eyri wrote:I adopt an EVE ship mentality when I call in vehicles. As soon as I call it in, I assume it's gone. Same thing with my prototype dropsuits. Don't use what you can't afford to lose; welcome to New Eden. Technically, everything you call in is considered gone since you will have -1 of it in your fittings. But there is a difference between, gone because the enemy destroy it or gone because one of your allies decide to steal your stuff. For the first is a matter of your ability against the ability of your enemy, for the latter you have no counter, if not be paranoid.
