Well we're veering into the deeply off topic, but I've not watched/read 50 shades of grey nor have I had the good fortune to be with a person who was more than tentatively interested. If they're ignoring the first rules of safety though they're presenting a grossly distorted and unsafe version of things.

Unfortunately this isn't anything new and a lot of people get this horrible idea that BDSM has a lot of outright abusive behaviour in it and that it's somehow okay.
