AOD has held a district for a few months now. Titans of Phoenix gave us a district. We constantly defended against more powerful corps and withstood the first few weeks of constant farming by the big corps (Kardia and friends). This is a brief story on how we have succeeded, despite recently losing our district.
It had been a bumpy road for us because we had never really run PC before. However, we pulled ourselves together. Every defeat we'd lose by only a few ticks (with the exception of 2 battles against RR's and Molon Labe). After every defeat we collected ourselves. We improved. Every match was experience for us. And though we're a small corp, we gelled, and our team chemistry grew.
The last 4 nights, we have faced RG's, Last Hope, and TOP. RG's attacked because of a misunderstanding. That misunderstanding was resolved, and though they depleted most of our clones, they did not flip our only district. They kept their word. However, that left us vulnerable to being attacked and flipped.
And so it happened. TOP issued the first attack last night. They were no shows. Instead, Addictpunk and his A team showed up to fight. A team of Elite players showed up, and took our 160 clones defending down to 97 clones.
Tonight, we fought the 2nd match against TOP and it was awesome. All AOD on our side, with the exception of Songs of Seraphim, and Bonita Amor. They were our only ringers.
We went ham on TOP. From 72 clones defending, we took Kardias A Team (he'll say it was his noob team, but really he only used 4 new guys, Songs of Seraphim can confirm this) whom had more than 200 clones, down to under 100, with us still standing with 27 clones at the end of the match.
I had never had so much fun in a PC match as I did tonight. Everyone in my Corp is in high spirits. We went against a good Corp tonight, and had we been full of clones defending, there's no WAY they would've flipped us tonight. I'll admit, maybe on a different night it might have been closer. Not tonight though. We had the upper hand the entire time controlling 3 or 4 objectives at a time.
We didn't give them the satisfaction to Clone us out. Quite frankly, I think they were thankful we stopped spawning in. It was that awesome.
In short. Thank you TOP. You DID give us this district many many months ago. Granted, your plan was always to farm us from the beginning. However, I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to hold our district as long as we did. We grew, and we gelled. We kicked your ass tonight. And for that, I am grateful.
No hard feelings, Kardia. Everyone's actions speak louder than words can.

Thanks! Our old A.O.D. (Angels of Death) was run by a different CEO. When he quit Dust after the FF announcement, he didn't want to let his directors run the Corp, so we ended up making a new AOD. Unfortunately, as much as we loved our old A.O.D. name, we had to settle for Art.of.Death.
