This is the pilot chapter for some Dust 514 fanfiction I've been working on. Please leave comments, thoughts, and if you'd like me to write more! 
Pilot Chapter
Standing in the Warbarge, I eyed the other mercenaries contracted by the Kor-Azor Family. Few wore Prototype Suits, and an unsettlingly high number of them wore Militia or Standard. It was unusual for the Kor-Azor to hire inexperienced mercenaries, so this surely hinted at their desperation. Skilled mercenaries that exclusively ran Prototype gear were hard to come by, and as such, these mercenaries enjoyed payment substantially higher than that of their lower-skilled counterparts. Perhaps the Kor-Azor Family was experiencing logistical problemsGǪ
Striding over to the head of the table where the hologram of the battlefield was displayed, the new mercenaries gaped in me at awe. They could see from my weathered expression that I had far more experience than anyone else employed by the Kor-Azor Family, and my counsel would be invaluable. A small smirk appeared on my face as I glanced at the hologram; Highlands. Many corporations had changed their surface infrastructure to mimic this particular design. Not only did it improve product yields, but it was also known to be effective for defence. The formula for victory was well-known amongst experienced mercenaries.
Raising my head to look at the mercs gathered around the table, I gave my instructions.
GÇÿThe most important objective at the start of the match in this map is Alpha. Once Alpha is firmly under our control, we can fan out to capture Bravo and Charlie.GÇÖ I received nods to acknowledge my instructions. GÇÿForego all Installations and Supply Depots; at the start of the conflict, your priorities should be Null Cannons and Clone Reanimation Units. Unless you are a Scout, wait for a Link dropped by one of your teammates to spawn on.GÇÖ
I heard a scoff from the other side of the table. Snapping my head to look at the defiant mercenary, I saw an Advanced Amarr Assault who wore an expression of contempt.
GÇÿYou, what is your monthly W/L ratio?GÇÖ, I demanded, looking him in the eye.
GÇÿ1.56GÇÖ, he sneered.
GÇÿMy W/L is significantly greater than yours. Until you can provide the stats to show you know how to lead a team to victory better than I do, I suggest you be quiet. If we have an issue again, you will regret it. Is that clear?GÇÖ The Amarr Assault lowered his gaze.
GÇÿIs that clear?GÇÖ I repeated.
GÇÿYes, SirGǪGÇÖ he responded.
GÇÿGood. One word of warning though: Shotty GoBang has been employed to fight against us.GÇÖ My teammates began to murmur and shuffle uneasily. GÇÿEnsure you check your six frequently.GÇÖ
Pushing myself off of the table I had been leaning on, I stood up straight and raised my head. GÇÿEverybody, prepare for deployment!GÇÖ
GÇÿYes, Sir!GÇÖ they replied in unison.

Haha, that was better than I expected. Kor-Azor lol.
It reminded me of some sort of Dynasty Warriors / Romance of the Three Kingdoms style battle preparations.

Chapter 2 - Setting Up Shop
I was single-minded as I sprinted towards the roof of Alpha. Remarkably, it seemed my teammates had heeded my instructions, and only a few Scouts trailed behind me. As I activated my Cloak Field, several blue Uplink icons appeared on my TACNET. I swiftly made my way to the nearest gap in the roof and dropped down onto a balcony overlooking the Control Panel, whilst simultaneously checking for any incoming enemy Scouts. I threw one Uplink down behind a stack of crates on the balcony, checked my six and stood motionless, rendering me effectively invisible. I thought back to the many times I had been killed as I tried to Hack an objective as soon as I arrived, and from that, I had learnt that it was best to let the enemy try to Hack it first.
My TACNET informed me that Alpha was being Hacked by the enemy. Grinning, I leaped down from the balcony and decloaked. Drawing my Nova Knives, I turned and sprinted into the small pocket where the Control Panel was located. Slashing without looking, I expected a splash of blood to paint the Control Panel red.
MY TACNET didnGÇÖt stop flashing: Alpha was still being hacked.
Realisation dawned on me that an invisible Scout must be tucked away in a corner of the pocket, Hacking the Control Panel. Panicking, I flailed my Knives around in all crevices of the pocket, desperately hoping to feel resistance before the Null Cannon could become hostile. I breathed a sigh of relief when a Standard Gallente Scout came into being as her Cloak fizzled out, leaving her visible as she lay on the ground in a crumpled heap, a vicious gash on her neck.
I immediately began my Hack as blue dots surrounded me on my TACNET, and several teammates had spawned on the Uplink I had dropped on the balcony. Sheathing my Knives and Drawing my Six Kin Assault Combat Rifle after my Hack was successful, I swiftly exited the tunnel via the ground entrance. Whilst we had initial control of Alpha, we had not yet consolidated it. The Killfeed informed me of several teammates killed by the enemy. One of these particularly concerned me:
'SHOTTY GOBANG (CREODRON SHOTGUN) TERIA MANIFUS'
Shrugging off my initial foreboding, I charged up the steep hill that led to the roof of Alpha, a blue shimmer marking my presence. As I neared the roof of Alpha, Charlie came under enemy control. I was not concerned though, because my own teammates were nearing our Homepoint; Bravo. Hearing the unmistakable sound of a charged Scrambler Rifle, I peeked over the lip of the roof to see two enemies GÇô one injured Proto Amarr Assault and one Advanced Gallente Scout - finishing off a helpless Caldari Assault. After the Caldari AssaultGÇÖs clone was terminated, the two mercenaries made their way to the gaps in the roof; the Amarr Assault aiming in, taking shots at whoever was unfortunate enough to not spot him, and the Gallente Scout waiting for the perfect opportunity to jump down and infiltrate the Objective.
It was time to make my move.

"And then, a random STD Minmatar Scout appeared, voiding all my directions, heading right into the pack, RE's in hand, and then I saw this in the killfeed.
'BIRDANDY (Six Kin Burst Heavy Machine Gun) Forced Death'
I watched in horror as the limp scout lay on the ground. Then his finger twitched.
BWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

"I watched the suicidal kill. It was crazy. The next thing I knew, the same scout appeared on an uplink nearby, with a Tactical Sniper Rifle, crouched down, scoped, and I knew nothing.
'Forced Death (Tactical Sniper Rifle) Dreis ShadowWeaver'
I received mail from him afterwards.
'I have unleashed my anger upon you for using prototype combat rifles on your scout. Have a good day o7'
