Ah ok. Well thats pretty tin-foily, and I doubt that Sony will abandon consoles anytime soon. If anything what we'll see is a move pre-built PCs optimized for gaming, which is very similar to what we have to PS4s already. I think in general the future will see a unification around an x86 model instead of arbitrary architecture that we've seen in older gen consoles.

Honestly it isn't.
Most people have never heard of either one. All those FanFest attendees who cheered at the idea of Dust being dumped in favor of Legion have already decided Legion will never happen and moved on. Hell, some EVE players I've talked to already expect the Shanghai office to suffer the same fate as the Atlanta office.

While we're on the topic. It is extremely unlikely that consoles will die out anytime soon. While there is a market for it, companies will supply it. Sony sold a million PS4s on their launch in the U.S and Playstation is currently strongest market right now that is keeping them afloat. Microsoft has spent millions in deals and development, and Nintendo is equally a console/mobile gaming only company. If anything consoles are going to be more like PCs or turn into streaming machines.
