Ambush is rarely laggy for me. FW is what p!sses me off. Considering the objectives, installations, and numerous module combinations in Proto Gallente dropsuits, it's no wonder my FPS turns into a slideshow.

They wreak just as many vehicles as they bring in .
Find a new system to bring in and recall vehicles .
Maybe calling them in from storage depots ?
Yeah, someone else I know has been an advocate for storage depots ever since I can remember.

Maybe calling them in from storage depots ? Maybe we could get players to fly Bolas as a logistics drop ship, if they break your vehicle while delivering they get to pay for it. I want my LogiShips!
Attention passengers I will be your captain for the evening, I'm sure we won't run into any swarms but just inc- JUMP!!!

RDV's are utterly pointless. Vehicles could easily just materialize where you call them.
Plus, look at how hard matches lag out when vehicles get called in, there is clearly a problem with vehicle deployment to begin with. I'm sure that the stupid RDV animations don't do anything good for the process. |

The splash screens hide loading screens, though. Wouldn't adverts take memory as well? vOv
Quote: Suspending mail (and perhaps all channels except the one where your voice is active) while deployed to a match might help performance too. It's not ideal, but it would probably be worth it if it gave a decent performance improvement.
Deleting all your mail gives a noticeable performance boost, as does reducing the number of channels you have open.

The main issue is stuff that's being loaded during a match so cutting that down will help the most because that's when the PS3 is strained the most. Things like removing the MQ wouldn't help much except for when you were in the "new sudo MQ" (if it's made to just a menu) and replacing it with sitting in the warbarge would actually hurt a little bit because then there's more things being loaded because the warbarge area is larger than the MQ and you also have to load the other player models.
Things I think would help a lot is reducing graphics quality (there was a big performance drop for a while after they bumped up the graphics from Chromosome to what we have now even though there wasn't much of a visual difference [to me at least]) and cutting of most of the no go zone of the maps because there actual terrain is 5x5km (iirc) but we only play on about 1x1km of it at most on the maps with the largest play areas. The terrain we don't actually use is eating up a lot of memory.
Reducing object count will help as others have already pointed out the mostly useless installations in the red line. But things like MCC missiles and Null missiles could have their models removed without really affecting gameplay (most pilots are blindsided by them anyways when they are hit by them) but still opening up a bit of memory. Also removing the RDV and just having vehicle materialize just as they dematerialize would also clear up a bit of rooming. Removing some of the crates and other pointless objects in the redline would help a bit as well which of course there are some maps that need the little things to provide some cover since there aren't buildings blocking people from farming your team at those spots.
removing custom channels from in-match, as already suggested, would help; all you really need is squad and team for pubs. FW only really needs squad and team can be replaced with a district specific FW channel so that custom channels aren't needed for communication between EVE and Dust. PC only needs a district specific channel because everyone on a side joins the same custom channel anyways.
There's probably much more we could nickle and dime out of the game that I can't think of right now.

Yes but only when they're on screen unless the devs aren't releasing memory properly, if they are to replace the Move screens. Honestly though I would support this, they could sell that space to advertise others games or what ever. It'd simplify the code for controls a bit as well in bring in a bit of extra money that would hopefully be put back into Dust's development.

The splash screens hide loading screens, though. Wouldn't adverts take memory as well? vOv Adverts would only take up memory during the loading phase and then the memory could be released afterwards. Memory is only a problem during actual battles--that's the issue. I'd rather look at ads (that change) from DUST corps than that f*cking Playstation Move screen warning me not to whack other people in the head. It might be a way to bring in some additional revenue for CCP and help new players get involved with a corp (which dramatically improves retention I'm told).

Especially a game mode that connects us to EvE, more than any other game mode. Ditch the merc hq and implement the war barge? I've had a couple threads about this. Sorta. It's called WiS, or walking in stations. Basically one of those stupid doors, would finally fuckin open, and we'd be able to go out and hang out with the other players. Right now, probably forever, the merc is a useless tool. It's pretty much pointless. Getting rid of turret options and pilot suit options in the menu? I dunno if these things would actually help. Pretty sure the end all of these conversations, is that the game needs to be ported to PS4. We'd be able to do most of the things we want. Maybe more I've been here since closed beta. We NEVER had the problems we have now since FW was brought in. As I stated, it was only an opinion/option. If your hand causes you to steal....Cut it off! What is more important, having a broken game that only 3000 people play daily, or having a GREAT game that everyone plays? I hardly ever get lag in Domination......... Your connecting the wrong dots dude. FW isnt the/an issue to worry about. about a gajillion other problems that would actually help the game far more than cutting out FW. Ps, guess which game mode worked yesterday when public contracts didnt. Hint: FW. WOW! Just because FW was the only map working yesterday, has NOTHING to do with the discussion. Its a FACT that there is more lag in skirmish/FW/PC. Why you ask? There is a lot more going on in those matches. Larger areas, more objectives, more everything. Ambush has the least amount of lag. Basic cause and effect.
Why not remove PC then. As logical a solution to this mess as removing FW.

If your hand is stealing? Don't cut it off, stop stealing dummy! I've been here since closed beta. We've always had problems. The biggest reason for these problems is it needs to get moved to ps4 so it can handle all the things this game is, and what else it needs implemented. Do we need more things? Yes of course. Do things need to get fixed, yes of course. And they need to be worked on, while the game is getting porter. If that ever occurs
