Are you aware that installations can kill infantry very well? And that infantry can hack these if the other team is using them?

If a match is only infantry, there should only be infantry. That was the reasoning for removing tanks, now that tanks are gone the installations are the most annoying thing to dispatch.
Not to mention it requires way too much effort for a team deathmatch mode.

They make for mildly more interesting maps by creating strategic points to take/avoid
If anything I wish they would shuffle them around and drop them in spots that are actually really useful. It seems like the really good installations are just there by dumb luck. |

It seems like the really good installations are just there by dumb luck. Well when they are able to cover 60% of the map there's a huge issue. It's not at all strategic to take one on most maps because they are easily avoidable, except on the bridge map where, as I said, they can cover 60% of the map.
There should be a clear and easy counter to them, because ambush is meant to be a simple team death match mode. The most viable counter is to switch to AV which aren't meant to be used in ambush because the main prospect of ambush is a quick death match that's it.

You know the difference was between Ambush and Ambush OMS?
Vehicles and installations.
You know the difference is now between Ambush and Ambush OMS?
Installations.
...I'm sure you can see where i'm going.
In my opinion, they should've just made Ambush OMS a separate game mode. That way everyone's happy.

You're complaining, because you get a higher payout of ISK for a greatly reduced time investment?
Why not just remove Ambush? The turrets are there to make people who think "it's okay to run proto" a bit more nervous.
By the way, you can shoot the user off the installation by aiming under the supports of the turret.

I'm complaining because it's beyond broken that 1 person can take a blaster installation and suppress an entire team, but everyone complained when tanks did it and had them removed. Like said there's too much investment for a TDM mode for players to coordinate to dispatch 1 jerk-off on an installation.
No it doesn't, nothing stops proto-users from farming the turrets as well it's just a bad mechanic since tanks were removed from bush completely.

The game mode is meant to throw away dropsuits so you can earn money faster.
If you don't like throwing away dropsuits, don't do Ambush.
I mean it's literally what the mode is for.
And YES proto users will decide not to drop in if they see an enemy with a turret. If it's an ally with the turret, they might decide to use the suit. You're trying to pigeonhole a situation where they use it in 100% of all situations into a scenario where they are used, only if favorable. The turrets actually change the decisions of the Proto users. Without turrets, the Proto users would not think twice.

That's statement is so general you can literally apply it to anything the game. "Without militia weapons proto users would not think twice," this isn't about proto users they're not the only ones affected by this terrible mechanic. One person in an installation should not have the ability to slaughter an entire team, no matter what gear or experience the other team has, there is no investment or anything that justifies turrets being in ambush.
The game mode is team death match I know this to be true because the objective is to wipe out the enemy team's clone reserves. That is literally the definition of team death match. People thought tanks were an unfair advantage, but it's the exact same thing as installations excluding mobility, which is a non-factor on the bridge map.

Installations are far more vulnerable than vehicles. They can't move, they only offer limited protection to the operator, and they can't endure sustained AV fire. If you come against a manned blaster turret and can't be bothered to switch out of your try-hard slayer fit to something than can remove the installation then you deserve to lose said fit. Seriously, it takes just one AV fit of any flavour, a nano hive and some cover to knock out every installation on a map.
Let's not dumb the game down any further, please.

Listen hear scrub, I always play this game and it doesn't take a genius to see that it's beyond broken that installations are still in ambush. A cloaked scout doesn't work against a competent team, they'll see you before you can get to the jerkoff on the installation. A sniper is not useful in ambush because it's easily countered because the maps are so small.
Beyond anything you shouldn't have to change fits in ambush just because some idiot decides to camp an installation. It's the exact same thing as tanks except it's much harder to dispatch installations.
I'm not complaining that it's "hard" to kill installation user, it's just a ridiculous advantage, especially since vehicles were completely removed from ambush.

Let's not dumb the game down any further, please. Installation definitely can endure sustained A/V fire, they all have a minimum of 14000 hp that's more than any tank. Nobody should have to switch to an Anti-Vehicle weapon in a mode where killing clones is the goal, especially since there are no Vehicles in the game mode. You're also illiterate and your writing utterly disgusts me.
It's not dumbing the game down, it's fixing what is broken, vehicles are done in ambush so there shouldn't be a need to counter installations in ambush, it's ridiculous.

So in other words instead of letting installations be tactical points of interest that each side attempts to capture in order to secure and advantage over the other team, you would rather they just be removed entirely in order to make Ambush as face-rolly as possible?

Well I'm mainly talking about the bridge map where they are unavoidable, but yeah I wouldn't even consider them tactical points of interest by any means. There's no good counter to them in a mode dedicated to killing enemy clones therefore they give the same imbalance that tanks in ambush did, especially on the bridge map.

Well the whole reason they got such a huge HP buff is that they're not intended to be destroyed easily. Instead the idea was that they should be points of interest that you work your way up to to capture either by getting there first, or stabbing the operator in the back. I think removing them just removes a layer of gameplay, which would be a downgrade and not an improvement, in my opinion.

Their intention is an issue considering how quickly everything else dies comparatively. Currently they're not points of interest because the enemies can simply avoid them because how big the map is, the only time they come into play is when they're unavoidable, which should never be the case because of how much firepower they have they're effectively stronger tanks.
