Yeah I think I've spent over 400 hours on Battlefront 2, and I actually bought my PS3 for the originally planned release date of Battlefront 3 (december 2010) and then I got f*cked. |

And in most cases, gameplay footage only shows the most polished part of the game.
There IS a few exceptions when you see gameplay and think "DAMN! That looks terrible!"

I'm pumped for any Star Wars footage (Do you notice my name?), but this is seriously rubbing me wrong. For reasoning, no space battles, no 32 vs 32 but rather 20 vs 20, no Campaign rumored, and they aren't speaking of Online/ Offline Galactic Conquest, or Instant Action...
Granted, it is just the trailer, and they probably are saving guns for E3, but they are ALREADY asking for Preorders. The last I got this excited about a game was Aliens: Colonial Marines, and that was terrible.
The reason I'm mad, is because this game is on the PS4, XBOX1, PC. These systems are over 20 times more powerful than a PS2, and we STILL so have more content from Battlefront 2 than this game? Dice has yet to reveal any Clone Wars, Droid gameplay, so we are stuck in the Rebel era. Understandable since this is in line with The Force Awakens but REALLY?
Over 10 years I've been waiting for this sequel, and while the Graphics, and my BOYISH hope which I have been exclusively used for Dust over the 2 years is now TRULY hoping this game will be as amazing. These are not impossible hopes as people say, these are fricking expectations that being in 2015, on ever more powerful systems, graphics isn't the only damn thing this generation will display. I'm telling you, I have two strikes left to give.
If Battlefront fails me, then I will wait for the second one, which better expand on the original as the other SWBF2 did.
If both games fail me, then I shall play the Division. If that fails me, I'm only playing F2P games like Planetside 2.
After that I'm done. Star Wars is a legacy, and Dice needs to know this.

I'm on the same boat with about 1/4th of the people here. I saw the reveal trailer and was pretty impressed, but they will secure my wallet when they show gameplay footage / demo. I expect it to be this summer at E3 (I believe it is a reasonable timeframe).
After some research on currently available information:
- 4 planets have been show as of now: 2 maps each.
- No space battles, but air combat will be featured in the atmosphere
- No narrative single player campaign, but 'short' missions playable with offline settings, a friend, or split screen (think BF3 coop)
- No prequel trilogy has been shown
- The first DLC will be free, pre-ordering gets you it like a week before release
- Buddy system that will let you and a friend share each others unlocks.

I am hyped for it only because I love Star Wars and all related stories and universe.
Except the prequel trilogy... That **** was unneccesary.

The graphics and game play wont be anywhere near the trailer notice the "Game Engine Footage" message at the bottom where it should say in game footage. It is a very deceiving trailer and the OP fell for it. There is going to be "on rails" AT-AT's where you just control the shooting and not the whole machine which is extremely lame. No 32 vs 32 like the old games which is a mind f*ck for today's standards. Only 4 planets, not 16 anymore. No space combat, No classes, No clone war era. This battle front has nowhere near the same amount of content as their predecessors. But they sure as hell have their deluxe edition for $69.99.

If anyone needs to know Star Wars is a legacy its George Lucas. He has mucking up the franchise since the end of the original trilogy. There are tons of literature, comics, and other forms of media that blow his episodic garbage right out of the water. With that being said, Division will be good, that much is sure, it plays on that solid engine and has multiplayer online. Win. As far as BF is concerned, you fans might as well drop your dreams at the door and enjoy the product for whatever it is. It will shoot well, and be a star wars skin. No sense in pissing buckets over a game that you don't know anything about yet.
Preorders are like first date sex, always expected, but only given to those deserving.
