To each his own really. There might be one fit that works for some, and another for others.
An AR is pretty detrimental to the GalAss, obviously.
My own personal GalAss fit is as followed:
Dual Ion Pistols - ADV for my G-1 and CreoDen for my gk.0
M1 Locus - main non-AV grenade for every fit of anything really.
Krin's DMG Mod. x2
STD Myo
Complex Armor Repair x3
STD Cardiac Regulator x2 or Enhanced Ferroscale x2
That is my personal favorite, I got a flanker suit which is basically that except with a Tac AR and a Creo Ion.
If you expect the worst, you'll never be disappointed.

A CR on a Galassault? You make me sad.
The fit Kirk and I run goes something like this (highs interchangeable to taste)
Duvolle Assault Rifle
CreoDron Ion Pistol
Allotek Flux Grenade
Complex Light Damage Modifier
Complex Myofibril Stimulant
Complex Precision Enhancer
Complex Armour Repairer
Complex Armour Repairer
Complex Ferroscale Plate
Complex Ferroscale Plate
Complex Ferroscale Plate
Equipment of choice.
I suppose the ACR might technically be a better choice (and of course the Galassault bonus is pretty lol) but max Gallente > all.

Main rule for amarr and gall lows :
ferroscales + reps / ferroscales + reactives.
Guns of choice, flux/core locus, eqiupment of choice.
High : dmg mods, precision mod, blue bottle, extender <--- choose from these.
