What if major framerate drops are not connected to hardware, players loadouts, objects on screen etc. but is just a result of high latency situations?
fact is, framerate drops sometimes cannot be explained:
- Why you and your squad are experiencing horrible framerate while the enemy squads don't?
- Why are you experiencing horrible framerate while some of your squad mates don't?
If it was a problem with load outs, maps, weapons, or anything else, the horrible framerate would be the same for anyone, but still, it's not.
I thought about a couple test we made a year and half ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LXSUmRBm2A
It was a PC Framerate/Lag test: everything have been pretty good for us, no significant framerate drops, no lag even if there was the big blue bubble at the supply depot. But as you can see at 21:00 (hilarious), it wasn't the same for our enemies. The same day, we had a full two-sided battle against another italian corporation and everything was fine for both sides (again, blue + red bubbles included).
Now compare the last video to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxip2n9VXjo a live comparison of how the game was performing for all of us against Nyan San.
Now, considering all the things I mentioned, are you still so sure that the issue is due to hardware/loadouts/objects etc?

I agree, yesterday evening in a test PC agaisnt PG, in the first minutes everything was fine, when we moved to the city, where we have decided to have the fight, the framerate dropped almost instantly for me and some other of my squad.
It was just not playable, since it was just a test, i decided to leave the battle, some of my squad left too, while another friend told me that for him, it was just like a pub match, some lag yes, but something bearable.

This fits my observations. Framerates tanking is actually very rare for me.

They have an internal build which probably doesn't suffer any framerate drop, or if it does it suffer the "normal" drops, the ones you can actually explain (orbital Bombardments for example).
Still, it will be simple speculation. since we have no real info on how things are handled in Dust... A dev reply would be much appreciated. Even a simple "it may be" or "it cannot be" would be enough for me.

This may seem to be stupid, but could language localization actually impact gameplay? There are little differences between italian version and english, quick example: in italian localization the security status is always white.

So noobs are calling it a lagswitch and you laugh. But something is wrong.
The problem here is that there is something exploitable still, like the infamous "small room lag bomb exploit". I've got EU server chosen, squad of people from all over EU and sometimes Russia and we've got domi pubs where everything is silk smooth until we push reds out of the objective and then the insane drop starts. I mean I had <1FPS in lagoratory skirm (aka "IS IT YLOD TIME YET?!"), but having <5FPS on the bridge map is INSANE. It's like "look at all this empty space, I'm having a seizure in such a pretty place!" And I've seen it happening with some corps more than with others. Reds lose, choking starts. No people leaving or joining, same teams, playing normally (the blues at least) when suddenly everything tanks.
It's a different issue from everything running smoothly and guys not taking damage or strafing left and right like crazy while OHK head-shoting you. That's called "being closer to the server" and having gun-game -- deadly combo.
We're talking about a normal match, on a sunny day, when suddenly the game just wants to die and sometimes it indeed hard-freezes. What's important is that it happens for most of the squad, without geographical constraints.
You know who knows what's going on? People who run the server. But they don't care. So buy more AURum. That will show them.
Also to whoever is exploiting ****** netcode -- congrats on being a c*nt.
BTW. playing non-localized version, still happens.
I liked this game.
