So I just skilled into the Allotek Plasma and was wondering if there was a specific way to run them. I currently have it on my Melee (GK.0 Assault) fit so I can jump up and shoot people, but what should I do with my AV Commando? That thing jumps like it's been sat on by a whale. Should I just try to find high points on the map?

People have been using the plc even before the silly jumping. So it's possible to use in on your commando, utilise high points! Also use a plasma rifle(assault rifle) with your Galmando fit. Galmando+Plc=red monster you don't want to mess with

I have ADV Gallente AV fit with a Plasma Cannon and GLU-5 Tactical. I mainly use that on high points, and it's pretty good but I just wanted some advise. Thanks!

galmando = AR( any really) and PLC = gunlogi nightmare
PLC is really good for CQC as the splash damage radius is not so great but the damage level is high. Try using it on city maps .
BIG TARGETS or small spaces is all the goal with the PLC |

Jumping with a PLC is the scrubby way to use it. With practice and skill you can be extremely successful with both feet firmly on the ground. It's difficult to give specific advice other than learn how to lead your target depending on range. I typically *wont* shoot at their feet since I feel its more difficult to land a direct hit that way. Just aim for center mass and understand that you're likely going to be switching to your other weapon if you miss.

Here's how I run the PLC:
ADV Commando ADV PLC ADV Rifle ADV Scanner
The purpose really is versatility: - You can deter vehicles. - You stand a good chance against any non-heavy dropsuit. - The scanner helps you identify any heavies before they kill you. Feel free to line up a PLC shot.
Hardly a minmaxer's fitting because it isn't very good at any of the things it does, but it very rarely runs out of options. |

I hate jumping PLC, but i gotta accept it.
i don't use it on a jumper, and in its boom in popularity, i use it only when I need to.
That being said, i can only give you advice as a non-flyer.
First, DO NOT RELY ON SPLASH. AT ALL. splash is just an assistant for you... A true fit will have a good secondary, generally an SMG or magsec (moving around too quickly for precision, and you'll need lots of ammo to support you). The way i prof 5 my cann was because I wanted a bit more out of my splash. It was completely "accidental."
2. Precharge, pop around corners and release. I tend to crouch then jump n shoot around cover for infantry. it keeps the charge time low if there's a surprise waiting for you.
3. Try your best not to get caught in the splash... My poor calass had itself exposed too many times cause of that. Also this makes it very difficult to survive a 1v1 in clutch range.
4. JUMP AND SHOOT! I tend to land distant shots with a jump because i can keep the sight closer to the target. Closer to target means less guesswork. Less guesswork means higher accuracy. Yu feel?
5. Nanohives. Nuff said.
6. Reload skill first! It directly affects DPS That's all i can just ring out at the time... I'd need to play a Lil this week to give yu more.

Well, I have been using it for a while, since before it was popular, so I'll give you my thoughts.
First, get reload to 5. It is essentially your ROF.
If you want to use myo's and jump for the splash, fine. But it's harder than you think to splash a moving target while you are also moving. I don't use it this way.
I have a Assault gk.0 and mk.0. Commando's are not as good.
I wanted to use it on the Gal assault bc of racial purity, but it benefits none from the bonus. No dispersion.
You need a good sidearm. So I use it on my Minmatar Assault with an SMG for the clip bonus.
Assault mk.0 Allotek PLC Boundless Breach SMG. 2 complex sidearm dmg mods
Use the PLC when appropriate, but don't try and shoehorn every kill into it.
Stay gold.

If you use PLC exclusively on a jump-fit, you are not a true PLC enthusiast. If you only skilled into PLC after getting jump mods, just to jump around with it, you're a scrub.
I have much respect for anyone who is a true PLC enthusiast.
To OP: On a commando I like to use high points sometimes, but what gives me the most joy is long range sniping with it. Getting direct hits on moving targets (75m+ away) whilst sidestepping is a great feeling. I live for direct hits! Other than that, it's all about AV.
I spent 2 weeks practicing shooting from the ground to enemies on high ground and now I excel at it. You get much more satisfying kills this way. Shooting down onto enemies is just too easy. I love taking on snipers with it, thinking they got me pinned down, only to get a direct PLC round to the face.

This was my fit from before PLC was cool, and was originally intended to be a shitfit troll suit.
Quafe A-1 Assault (Or just AmAssault since I assume you don't have Quafe)
Plasma Cannon Flaylock
AV or locus, depends on enemy vehicle makeup
Enhanced kincats x2 Armor Rep
Nanohives
I fell in love with the PLC with that suit. It can run relatively fast with decent HP and great stamina
For using the PLC, it really depends on your sidearm at first. You could use it as a pseudo flux grenade launcher and finish with Flaylock. But I recommend getting good with the direct hits. However, don't bother with direct hits too much if you're up against a real strafy suit.

I can't use a Flaylock (and I wouldn't want to, I'm trash with them), but I'll try that fit with my 'Dren' Caldari Assault (with a Breach Scrambler Pistol sidearm). Thanks Sham, always nice to talk to you, even if you ARE a Caldari scrub-nugget xD

I probably won't run my jumpy fit next time, just classic PLC vs PLC dodgeball. No sidearms.
