Just a thought on freeing up some space
Delete most if not all basic equipment modules
Enable adv and proto mods at level 1 but impose a higher CPU/pg restriction that is reduced as you level up in that skill
Obviously for some mods this is a bad idea ( ie: weapon mods/ myofibs)
But at the basic level the following are mostly useless:
Kin cats
Code breakers
CPU mods
Armor repair mods
Shield regulator
Range amplifier
Precision enhancer
Shield energizer
This would save some space (just don't know how much space:)

I have APEX suits. What about my Cloak Field? My Rep Tool? How about my Links, Hives and Nanite Injector? Should they just disappear?

Then why remove it in the first place? If the sole purpose is to be saving space, keeping them in the game solely for APEX suits seems pointless. I use Basic Hives all the time..

removing basic isnt the answer, but removing the aur titled gear is almost impossible as well because of simplified fitting protocol. in short there is no simple way to make less modules, filters in the fitting room would be appreciated.

I wouldn't touch nanohives, I use basic myself all the time
I also still have items in my inventory that do not exist in the market anymore, I'm assuming it would be possible to do this with apex suits.
I probably should have presented this in the form if a question because I did not give enough thought as to how the data is stored
Ie: When we purchase a basic kin cat are we just accessing and copying that file and would deleting that file save any meaningful space?
Also does having multiple unused items in our account affect performance?
(Should we delete/cash in these items for the sake of performance?
Or does having multiples of item not matter at all?

I wasn't thinking about isk so I agree with the -1
Other than that mistake I still think basic is useless to new players as well
I would almost always recommend a new player to use a armor or shield ext in place of any other equipment instead of:
5% run speed?
10% hacking ?
2.5 armor repair?
Etc.
It is much better for them to grind out sp and increase skills
(My opinion of course)
And what KU wrote is probably more accurate - remove aur items

Just quit. Why have a basic variant of everything in the game except a basic kincat? That's stupid. The AUR version is good because maybe I'm not skilled into scanners and want to try one before I put SP into it. Also, the APEX suits STILL RELY ON AURUM/LP MODULES/EQUIPMENT. That fact has not changed. Please, stop defending a ridiculous proposal
