This is why I leave match when I see the Gal Lag Facility socket.

It's not always this bad, but awful enough to make me not want to play on this socket.
It's also the only socket with this level of issues.
I have no issues like this in other games.
My PS3 does not overheat.
Yes, I've deleted my mails, contacts, and chat channels.
Yes, I've deleted Dust and re-downloaded it.

Accept it or move on.
It's like getting mad at a baby.
It will not change.
If CCP can forget to include the on/off toggle for inertia dampeners (one of many examples btw) as outlined in the Warlords patch notes 48 hours before release, well that about sums it up, eh?
I feel your pain for the lag, as do most players I am sure, but I would confidently bet my life, my life, it will never be corrected.
Accept it and play on or leave and curse under your breath.

I had my first real slideshow in a month or so last night. I was beginning to think it had been optimized a bit better as it hadn't been too bad recently. Probably didn't help that the other team was a full squad of Japanese guys and a handful of Dust Brasil, though. Wonder if disabling the reactor and any mood particle effects for that map might be of benefit. I've noticed Stormy and Toxic massively lag rendering on some maps, especially Ashland.
Reality is the original Rorschach.
Verily! So much for all that.

Memory leak issues. You need to do a number of things in sequence to make it this bad.
But yes, everyone knows the map is lag city.

I've also never had it anywhere near this bad. Been playing since early closed beta and this map does slow down for me but nothing close to this. |

I have never, ever, ever experienced that level of framerate drops...and I have been playing since the closed beta. (in this or any other socket)
As others have mentioned, please give as much info as possible about your setup and playstyle. - Which PS3 do you have? - Any modifications, like new HDD? - How many (consecutive) hours do you play? - How many fits do you have ready at all times.? Etc |

I had worse lag last night... I was playing Amarr FW and after a minute or so the map started to lag like never before. I was lucky to get 3 FPS...
No, this doesn't have anything to do with long play sessions or internet connection quality, it's just the map itself being a troll.
I think maybe, just maybe it's the giant roof section on one side of the socket. It's there just to put uplinks and has only one exit point, the walls are too high to jump over. (unless myofibs are stacked)
Maybe the devs left something big underground and forgot to remove it at the map's release, and now it's causing lag.

Ive never understood why people called this socket unplayable as i'd played it countless countless times solo in pub's with no issues what so ever
Then this week i started playing FW in squads due to the event, and every single time i've played this socket it has been like the video above or even worse.
One game i avoided the socket and was perfectly fine for the first half of the game, then i entered the socket and it went like that in the video for the rest of the game.
Even when i left the socket to the others that were fine the earlier half of the game, the problem followed me to those.
Im not sure if its the extra equipment spam that made it differ from pubs, or perhaps from being in a squad before entering the game rather than solo. All i know is I've never experienced any problems with the map in pub's, and now its like the video every game i encounter it in FW. At times its been literally like a slideshow, a frame every few seconds. |

I won't be sharing any details of my setup. I've been through that too many times. Couple of smart ass suggestions and people trying to blame my setup for this issue. No, it's not my setup. It's the socket. Period.
If you can play on this socket without issues, good for you, but many people can't.
I didn't really care about the socket anymore as I would just leave the match when it comes up.
But leaving a FW match after waiting for a match for 30 minutes is not an option.
CCP removed it from PC, please remove it from FW as well.

Well it's time I speak up. If you guys think this is the worst, I'll let my little secret lag issue out. My lag is WORSE. I have the slim PS3 (sliding door) no modifications a couple hours on weekends. When I play that map, I literally transport with every step I take. Only to get stuck in a wall for me to comit suicide. In the video, at least you can walk. When I walk, it goes crazy. Sometimes, my character seems to be running through lag will I'm walking. (Literally the character will move like you are sprinting even when you haven't pressed the sprint button. ) I'll try to pair a video on Twitter to show when ever it happens. And idk if it's normal, but sometimes some character is like zoomed into and you can see a GIANT dropsuits In the middle of the map.

Usually, I play for 3+ hours consecutively with 150 fits. I don't lag until two hours in and I'm in either this map, or the one surrounded by lots of towers. I have to stop moving in order for it to be smooth

Most often lag like this (op-¦s video) is because of peoples internet connection (yeah.. I know this map can be bad..). There are some ways to improve this.
1. Static IP 2. Dust Ports. 3. PS3 maintenance (clean up hard drive)
Do what you can to keep your ping down. Lousy ping is not what you need for online gaming.

If the issue really was my PS3 or internet connection then it would
1. happen on other maps as well
2. happen in other games as well
but it doesn't.
It's just this one socket which causes these severe issues. (They are usually not nearly this bad as in the video, but, like I said, annoying enough to make me leave match if I see this socket.)
So stop shitposting "problems on yo end bro" just because you are lucky enough to not have these issues.

Just because you have no concept of how computers work doesn't mean you have a concept of how computers work.
Let's say you have a map with 60 units of load, and a very low connection. You will experience a moderate game. If you hae a map with 80 units of load, and a low connection, you will have a stuttery game. If you have a map with 80 units of load, and a very low connection, you will have a craptacular game.
The load comes from the capacity of your own system, as well as the assets in the map itself. better system equals lower load rating.
You can very much have a few maps with higher load, and suddenly your crappy connection flares up because of this.

Do you have your PS3 on a static IP? Have you tried using the Dust ports? Whats going on over there??

If you live in an appartment, WiFi from a neighbour may be causing knockoff. Where I live Comcast's xFinity absolutely spams the airwaves, forcing computers to be knocked off every so often because of Comcast's incompetence.
If you are running windows... Open your command prompt Start Button -- type in "cmd" in the search bar. The Command Prompt will open.
Then inspect the air-waves around your computer by typing in
netsh wlan show all OR netsh wlan show networks mode = bssid
If the output is too long for your computer to read put " | clip" on the end to copy it to the clipboard, then use the Paste function inside a text processor (such as word or notepad) to see the entire list. If you want to paste items into the CMD window, you must right click the text area and select Paste, because the hotkey does not work.
netsh wlan show all | clip
The top of the list will just be information regarding networks you have connected to, but at the bottom, under SHOW NETWORKS MODE = BSSID You can see the networks around your computer, what wifi channel they use, and how strong their signal is relatively.
Oh did you know that some people actually pay $100+ to get this information? But you can get it FREE here. OuO wow right?
