What would you consider the best thing to happen to dust why?
I know we all have a lot of hate around here, but truth is that Dust 514 has come a long way. The single best thing IMO to happen to dust was CCP Rattati joining the team. He's done so much and even though we love to see the faults in dust and rattai, he's done an excellent job.
As far as features go... matchmaking is awesome. i love it. sure its shaky as hell at times, but good lord have i had some fun. I still get some matches that arent full and sometimes i come into matches at the end, but most of the time i get matches that arent one sided, but very challenging.

After that dust is trying to incorporate other FPS mechanics like CoD, lowered TTK and most recently Titanfall.
So no I see no improvement just changes

Dust is now 5 times better and more entertaining.
What have Dust had back then?
Few suits, one rifle, more bugs and technical issues.
As of me, Rattati did a great job. He improved Dust and i know it wasn't easy.

Better communication by the CPM and CCP.
The worst thing to happen to DUST was because a lack of communication; Rouge Wedding. It has gotten slightly better with the CPM being more active on the forums, Soraya, Dennie, and IWS specifically. Rattati posts all the time, the Trello boards at least being there so we know "okay, they are at least hearing us if not totally paying 100% attention." There are still some issues with this communication. "Is Legion just DUST on the PC or an entirely new game?" We don't know. "Will DUST progress past the PS3?" We don't know. "Now that DUST is profitable, is it more likely that further development will take place?" We don't know.
Now those are some hard questions, maybe even that CCP doesn't know for sure right now. However, we aren't currently in as hard of a silence as we were 9 months ago and CCP is being more honest with us even if it isn't super great news. Yeah, it sucked hearing that there would be no mention of DUST or Legion at FanFest but we were told several months prior so we weren't left hanging. If Legion had been announced months before the 'DUST' keynote and CCP was prepared to answer the questions immediately, the outcry would have been far less substantial.

To be honest Joseph IWS has always been active it's just that not too many like or respect the guy for some unknown reason .

I Invite you to do the same... Go watch how intense DUST was back then... How long fights where... The cool scopes and turrets... The maps...
They have dumbed DUST down and added as many items as they have removed from the game.
This game has become a quick kill, very very little satisfaction, boring CoD clone in space. with 1000x less polish.

For me gameplay is aslo very important. BUT gameplay without new content won't work for longer period of time. It would get boring, common etc. and then what?
I watched few videos. Nothing special really. <50% running then some shooting.
About scopes. They weren't really acting like one.
Ps. Since Rattati's changes, i can see how the game speeded up. Battles are more dynamic compared to those of old days.

They may be more dynamic, that doesn't mean fun imo, the longer take made engagements seem more like a fight, rather than who could wiggle better. Just my opinion. |

The best thing to happen to DUST is that it crashed and burned. Without that catharsis CCP wouldn't have learned its lesson, hopefully for good, and DUST wouldn't be getting a second, better life. CCP learned that they shouldn't have sold out to the PS3. Likewise, they realized that they had gained enough of a following for what they had already developed to hang on to it and listen more closely to fan criticism.
This single act of failure has probably done more to save the company and make it better. Valkyrie doesn't seem quite so doomed right out of the gate.
