That's why there are things called scanners. Also, who doesn't check for REs in the first place? KTB and newbs, that's who. Anyone else deserves to die, and this is coming from someone who doesn't use REs.

RE's should be about dropping traps and defending locations, not throwing them into a room or from above. For a Remote Explosive on an Objective, it seems to be fair enough. Before you hack a point, throw a grenade in there. If you see "Equipment destroyed", you did a good job not dying to the person that wasn't planning for you to check before grabbing. Now for the glitch that sometimes lets Remotes get inside the console and are nearly impossible to get out but are still capable of killing, yes, that is a problem but it is with a glitch not the Remotes. Remotes do have some potential balance concerns but "a defensive tactic that can be fairly easily countered" is not really one of them. "This is B.S! This is B.S! I paid money! Adapt or die. not a myth, i cant put it benieth the mesh on nearly every objective in the game. any i cannot put under the mesh go in super secret hidden spots that go half in the mesh reducing visability almost completly. its possable on 100% of objectives to either place compeltly or partially under the mesh :P im one of the founding grandfathers of the demo-logi, i have ALOT of practice placing remotes. I've been skilled into REs for about a month now and even I know how to hide them :P They are easily taken out by fluxes though, otherwise is have a lot more kills!
