Shield Threshold
The basic idea is to add a system where shield are supposed to take a certain amount of hits before their recharge resets making it more fair since you can just wipe out anyone's shields with a flux grenade and all guns can wipe out shields easily since shields are a joke, this would make caldari somewhat of a threat still doesn't change that caldari has s**ky shield and armor distribution for that i say lower the armor raise the shields if caldari can rely on their shields more that would be great cause i am a caldari and i haven't once relied on my shields do their uselessness.
My hope is for CCP to notice this not to just look at it and say add it to the pot all i want is to see the game grow not die |

There should be a damage threshold for suits before regen stops, just like there is for vehicles. It would stop shield regen being halted because of 1hp damage from an SMG at extreme range. This wouldn't have any effect on close range engagements, only acting as buff for suits at long ranges.

2: shields are better if you can keep your distance. they are not, never were and likely will never be intended for brawling. using the same tactics you would use for armor is suicidal, and bluntly should be. Finally, intended my ass. They were intended to be different and situationally better in one form or another.
Besides some VERY small changes to how some shield mechanics interact, shields are absolutely worthwhile. I rip more faces off shielded than I do armored. But then I also don't play "Rush the sentinel" when I run shields either.

Shields work in EVE because Cal also have ewar, specifically ECM, to deal with CQ targets. Also, shields can recharge and mitigate damage. Yes, shield mechanics in this game are a joke. Hit and run my ass. Cal fight long range and have ways of dealing with enemies that get in close. Period!
An idea would be to make range the main focus of shields. Shields could take less damage at range than what they do now and take more damage than they do now at CQ. Armor would take more damage at range than they do now.
That way you force Cal to operate at range, but have an advantage at that range.

Shields are garbage compared to armor.
Anyone that says otherwise is sitting in the redline or Kiting( where armor would do the same job better ).
Shields need a buff. |

25-45% of sHP/s should be the threshold. Hit harder than that and recharge is broken.
That or out dps the recharge breaks recharge.

But it was balanced because the laser rifle was OP AF then as well.
Once plates got buffed, enhanced plates were the go to for every suit in the game, as it was cheap, easy to fit, high HP, low penalty.
Now, shield isn't nearly as gimped compared to armor, but its still a lot worse, as armor has better rep mechanics, and allows for damage mods in the highs without gimping the suit.
Also, considering that the AsScr is the highest DPS full auto LW in the game, and the Am Assault+ ScR is the most used suit in pubs, and is becoming the most popular in PC, shields are not in a good place.
Shields would only be equal to armor if people only used combat and rail rifles, which is sad but true.

Cavani isn't trolling; he's a troll, yes, but he's right in saying that its inferior.
Shield tanking is, to say the least, arduous. A Caldari Assault ck.0 with three complex regulators brings the delays to around 1.6 seconds & 2.3 depleted -- which is a LONG time for combat. A STD flux wipes out all my shields, and if I'm unable to find over or obstruct their line-of-sight, I'm as good as dead.
Yes, getting over 66 shield hp per second (with two complex rechargers) is nice, but it's a hefty price to pay when a random bullet hits me at 80 meters.
There SHOULD be a shield threshold, and it is currently on the Trello board. As to when it's implemented is another story. Until then, suck it up. Coming from a dedicated Caldari Assault.
Oh and you can only get over 100 shield hp per second easy on the OFFICER Caldari suits.
