I was running an FW with Aero the day before last and this is a summary of the discussion we had.

ME: Well this is boring.....we redlined them really quickly and there's nothing to do.
Aero: They have AV True.

*AV hits my tank

Aero: Oh but its **** AV.
ME: Even bad AV is good if you have enough of it.

*3 Swarmers and a Forgegunner appear as my Armour Hardener enters cooldown and my Standard Maddy dies.


Every tanker loses their tanks some time, and sometimes AV is simply so prevalent or intelligent that driving a tank is impossible or inefficient, as such it's not much to claim the destruction of one as some grand event self proclaimed best tanker or not.

Worst thing a Tanker can do is lose concentration for a moment in the face of AV. Whenever I do, or simply cannot focus, I tend to start losing my expensive tanks.

Who would survive that no matter how " good " they were ?

Ehh I must admit we did have 4 proto swarms on him, but still he was literally right next to the redline almost out of reach. It was a proto maddy with I'm sure a complex hardener. I dunno lol, just seemed hilarious at the time to see like 32 missiles from swarms coming at him with a matter of seconds.

He surely should have predicted the 32 missiles would have hit him at once and hidden!

Congrats. You killed a tank....by quadruple teaming him with proto swarms. lol

Wyrkomi's are nasty effing weapons to have to deal with. One is cause for concern with Armour HAV I find, two is a nightmare, and three is just apocalyptic unless you are already prepared with hardeners on and a plan to mitigate incoming damage.

I think I worked out that an incoming Wyrkomi swarm takes my HAV's armour HP down from 4150-4585 down to a little over 2700 when unhardened which is usually what I observe. That's around 1718 damage or 1862.72 damage per volley on a Min Commando with damage modules and a fully upgraded warbarge.

Nah -- I can probably beat Tebu and other tanker's asses, but they are afraid to admit it!

into one of my traps, or switching to a counter-tank to handle them.

Maybe QQ nerd-rage and call me a Redliner or something. LOL

You managed to take everything I said, ignore it, and fill it in with what you wanted to hear. You REALLY want me to get mad or something (I'm pretty chill dude, takes a LOT to set me off btw)

For some context, this was a cal factional ( I was cal side), we were redlined, and I had fought that AV from an outside point up back to my redline. I knew they were somewhere around there, and I was under the impression the redline would keep them back.

Nope, they were like right there by our redline supply depot, 2 volleys made contact, 2 more already in the air, hardeners go up, health down to 1500 at this point, keep backing up, ANNND dead. Happened rather quickly, with little time to react.

It's amazing though, I don't often get "Gloat mail". Hate mail yes. When I do though, I like to counter with the facts (IE our team was redlined and useless), I came out top of the board, ect. I did mention I'm one of the top tankers in the game, but not the "best". There is a long list of top tankers.

And dude, I just couldn't respond to your last mail because you wanted so badly for me to be butt hurt. That last mail I sent was a compliment after I gave you a GG. How did that go over your head??? I said there is a lot of bad AV out there but you guys pulled it off (cough cough 4 minmandos).

Basically I give you a GG, nicely done, and you take it to the forums to "gloat" some more. I don't know if I can lol anymore than I did when I first recieved the mail. THIS is quite funny fella. +1 for effort:)

Nah that's pretty much how I try to tank. It will probably be against most people's sensibilities but if I can do something, use terrain, predict my opponent, or have a gunner that how I want to win my fight.

I'd actually like to fight you one day. Last time I saw you in a match there were two Gv.0's on the field and you had one of your gunners I guess I could have given the fight a shot but I think your pair of tanks would have wrecked me without too much trouble.

I'll never dispute Tebu is good at what he does. If I recall he's one of many tankers I learned to tank better by watching in matches.

Is there a good player in a dropsuit? Crosshair turns red.. Lookdown sights.. Hold fire button.. Dead in 1 second... No duels... No back and fourth .. No chance for them to defend their ISK investment.... Dead in 1 second...


This game has been turned into quick reward.. Very very little meaning... CoD in space...

CCP Slowly has disabled most player skill as a factor in engagements and made it purely based on ISK, SP and Using Game Mechanics.
