After the matchmaking and PC projects have been completed, I'd like to suggest adding a very simple "Stock Market" dynamic to the way we are reselling our loot.
Each month, (or with every new Hotfix/Update), the costs of reselling a weapon/module/etc should be altered. Not every item consistently.
Not every item, every month. The more random, the better.
Ex: Mox and Hella both tend to sell their HMGs and Sniper Rifles found in the salvage. Mox sells his HMGs right away, because he gets 11,000 ISK a piece for them, and tons of players lose them in combat deaths every week. Hella decides that she only sells stuff that goes for 9,000 ISK or less--she wants to hoard the 11K HMG for some reason.
Next Hotfix, with no explanation or warning, the market now pays 25,000 ISK for every Adv HMG. Hella reaps the reward of hedging her loot, and Mox has already sold off all his HMGs, so he's kicking himself.
The same way the Devs have a staff member to write up New Eden World News,GǪ I'd like to have someone artificially "fluctuate" the Resale Market, to add interesting highs-n-lows to our now-boring resale of loot.

That would be cool. It could be a good simulation of an economy. CCP would have to hire economic experts to go over the data though. |

Or just fake it, Terry!
Your thought is great---to have it act as a stock market that really reflects changes in use of the weapons, or demand of the module over, say a month of actual gameplay.
But, the Devs may not have the staffing or justification for doing all that. So, just FAKE it. We players won't know the difference, and CCP can say "it's all due to the changing progress of war in Ne Eden", or something Lore-ish like that.
Just so long as it adds new surprises and new things players can brag to other players about: "I just scored BIG on my stash of Luis' Sniper Rifles! Sold them JUST before the market demand bottomed out this week!"

NOOOGǪ. I read that thread,GǪ but the problem with it is that it's suggesting that the fluctuating prices should be locked to something real in the game.
I am suggesting it NOT be related to anything that is actually occurring, or must be actually measured by the Devs. It should be just a text change every time a Hotfix or Update is approved through Sony.
In other words, FAKE. Just make a fake fluctuation of the resale market, and the effect will be the same: a more interesting and more live-FEELING addition to our loot resale experience.
