That line would defend the home spawn. Yes, you could still eventually spawn murder the losing side, but you'd have to clear a hole in the defensive line first. Initially, dropships would have no business over that area of the map. Gradually, HAVs could clear turrets to create an opening - unless countered of course =) Maybe as a game mode one side's objective would be to conquer the spot(s) behind the defensive line. Here's a visualisation what the line might feel like! (pardon that couldn't find clip without original soundtrack...) Looking at both sides of the coin. Even Aurum one.

I agree. Why is it that they are so damn accurate at killing lavs. Rail and missle instals don't shot when you go past. So why is it that blasters do. I understand when you shoot them that it would be a defence thing. I've died to many times to these damn things when they are unmanned. Plus some are stupidly placed behind massive towers (mostly missle turrets) they don't have the range to get a kill from distanes and its difficult to land a shot on moving infanty anyway. So why place a building in front of them? General limited: warming failure to pay, may lead to death,massive amount of pain or even lose of family. Since 1995

If you pay me a nice hefty fee, I'll follow you around with my penta damage mod, missile Gunnlogi... It makes the blaster installations wet themselves. Also, don't be afraid... I tried to get a blaster installation to shoot me in the 5mil clone challenge... Lets just say it took too long to make it worthwhile.

I can't find the thread now, but I was suggesting a capture the terminal game mode where a terminal is defended by a lot of turrets and the first team to get to the terminal and hack it wins. My suggestion involved Scanning nodes as well so you could not rely on Stealth alone to win. Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

I agree. Why is it that they are so damn accurate at killing lavs. Rail and missle instals don't shot when you go past. So why is it that blasters do. I understand when you shoot them that it would be a defence thing. I've died to many times to these damn things when they are unmanned. Plus some are stupidly placed behind massive towers (mostly missle turrets) they don't have the range to get a kill from distanes and its difficult to land a shot on moving infanty anyway. So why place a building in front of them? The position makes them tough to crack, in a lot of maps blasters are kind of set closer to the middle and the firing cooldown is higher. Also take into account the total time needed to kill; railguns have a better range but typically need a 4th shot to bring down lavs and with 3 being the limit before a substantial cooldown you're probably going to run away. Maddy's probably fear rails a bit more because the lack of motion and mistiming of hardeners dooms the majority of them. Missiles are worse for infantry in some maps because no cooldown and in a map like the rail where it's skirmish if you push the enemy back to their own spawn the missile is right there ready to shoot you into oblivion. Blasters are like the railgun and combat rifles of turret installations; you're more likely to die to them because you can get more shots off and, like missile installations, have a bit of a splash effect so you don't always have to be precise on everything. Railgun installation gun kills are not the hottest of installations as you're not as likely to die to them but but if you have a really good gunner, it's one of the only kills in the game where the clone goes flying up in the air and makes a few bounces when it lands Not too many people can really use the railgun effectively against anything else outside a maddy and other installations. I'd also add it's kind of silly of a railgun/missile installation to shoot you as you run past; railguns have a huge delay in just firing and missiles aren't exactly an auto firing installation. It's what makes blasters effective against infantry and most vehicles; fast firing speed, can make more shots versus a railgun and a bit of a splash effect damage as well. I still prefer a railgun if I were to use one but meh oh well
