TL/DV for the video...
# 1 - The Trophy Collection (XMB > PS Network menu > Press +ö on Trophy Collection) - set to Offline Mode since DUST has no Trophies and requests to Tranquility for trophy updates may lead to memory leaks
# 2 - Display Settings (XMB > Settings menu > Video Output Settings) - uncheck 1080i and 1080p since DUST works best at 720p due to a recent update(?); the higher resolutions may lead to memory leaks
# 3 - DUST 514 Settings (in-game > NEOCOM > Options menu > Video tab) - Reduce Texture Detail and Effect Detail to minimize processing requirements; I haven't done this for fear the lack of detail would put me at a disadvantage beyond my sucky skills
# 4 - Chat Channels (in-game) - delete as many channels as possible as conventional wisdom suggests updates to member list saps processing/bandwidth
# 5 - Region Server (in-game > Options > Options > Gameplay Settings tab) - set your Battle Server Region to the nearest server based on your locale and NOT to Automatic
# 6 - Reset (directly prior to your squad deploying to Warbage for PC) - reboot your PS3 and restart DUST prior to deploying to Warbage, even better shut down your console along with your router/modem to ensure the cleanest connection to the DUST servers as possible but at minimum restart DUST (don't just log out/log in to DUST or restart DUST; note you may only have time to quickly relog on a "re-up")
# 7 - Taking the Server (in-game > NEOCOM > Battle > Battle Finder > Corporate Contracts) - for squad leaders with appropriate TCO role, in the seconds leading up to battle time, continuously X into Corp Contracts and O to back out (i.e. repeat the key presses) until you see "Now" on the battle timer then hit X again when it says "Now" the aim being to "take the server" or have your squad/team waiting to deploy to Warbage ahead of the opposition; you can tell if you took it first when the participant count says X / 32 where X is your squad count
# 8 - Loading your suit (in-game > while waiting in Warbage for PC battle to start > NEOCOM > Fitting > Dropsuit Fitting menu) - if you weren't able to reset per # 6 above (presumably for a "re-up" battle, otherwise you are just lazy or apathetic) you can force your suit choice/Favorite fitting by copying the suit you used in the last battle and deleting its original fitting them re-naming the copy to the original name (by removing "copy of") to force your Favorite to be the default you enter with into battle; furthermore, to save precious time when you actually deploy into the battle you can pre-fetch your Favorite suit by editing the fitting, go to Team channel and once the spinning circle resolves to the Team member list you should see your Favorite displayed- if you don't do this, when you are counting down to enter the battle at the end of the countdown you may be delayed further while your fitting is fetched from the server
Tips # 1 and 2 are items many may not be aware of... # 7 is one I already use and is a very good tip... # 8 is a fine point, particularly the "pre-fetching" (my word) of your Favorite fit seems like it can be the difference between capturing the inside points or not...
Thanks gustavo for sharing this! Thanks BrotherofHavoc for compiling the video!
Be just and if you can't be just be arbitrary.
