OK.
EWAR stands for Electronic Warfare.
This is with regards to Scan Precision and Scan Profile of suits.
Scan Precision is the "radar" system that each suit has that enables them to pick up other suits on Tacnet.
Scan Profile is the "output" that each suit has in terms of sounds/emissions that can be picked up by the "radar".
To give you an idea, a suit that has a Scan Precision of 36 dB can pick up any enemy suit that has 36 dB or higher if that enemy is within Medium or Short Scan Ranges (Scan Range is another related topic).
If a different enemy suit has a Scan Profile of 35 dB or lower, that suit will not be picked up within Medium and Long Scan Ranges.
How Scan Range Affects Precision With the advent of Scanning Circles, you now have 3 separate Ranges that inform Precision, Short, Medium, and Long.
Short Range 0 to 20% of a suit's total Range, with 50% of a suits Precision
Medium Range is 21 to 50% of a suit's total Range, with 100% of a suit's Precision.
Long Range is 51 to 100% of a suit's total Range, with 130% of a suit's Precision.
Within Short Range, the suit above with the 36dB Precision will get 18dB Precision.
Within Medium Ranges, the suit above will get its Precision of 36 dB.
Within Long Ranges, the suit above will get a Precision of 47 dB.
So pulling it all together, with the example above, with your suit at 36dB and the enemy at say 36 dB, if your suit has a hypothetical Range of 100m (no longer possible, but chosen for the ease of the example) within 20m you will have 18dB scans and pick up the enemy. In Ranges of 21 - 50m and Precision of 36dB, since a tie goes to the scanner, you will still pick him up on tacnet . At Ranges of 51-100, with Precision of 47 dB, you will no longer be able to pick up that enemy on tacnet.
Let me know if that was confusing, or if you have questions.
Former CEO of the Land of the BIind.
Any double entendre is unintended I assure you.

EWAR is a dust term for Hide & Seek, with sensors...
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.
