Ambush is a proto bloodbath and I haven't seen any noticeable increase in the payouts
I'm guessing time is by far the biggest factor in calculating the isk pool

Base payout pool + (3000 * number of terminated clones) + value of whatever was lost in match (tanks, suits, etc)
Winning team gets 60% of the pool, losing team gets 40%
Then it's divided up among the teams by the amount of time spent in match and largely by amount of warpoints relative to the rest of your team (like if you were at 4000 and the next highest was 700wp). I had a match the other day where my man squad earned 500k, 600k and 730k, we were miles ahead of the rest of our team in warpoints and we had smashed 5 gv.0's.
Ambush has low clone counts and you don't have as much time to generate unbelievable levels of warpoints. Real payouts come from hunting tanks in skirm/dom or logi'ing *hard*.

I don't get it either. Once I was camping a tower -- with a Ishy AFG and killed 6 tanks, 3 dropships... and got 660k ISK at the end.
And once I was just being a logi, got about 2.5k WP a few kills and assists... and got 610k ISK. It's strange.

I've gotten 1st running bpo with 1600 wp. Got 300,000 isk. The proto tanker in 2nd got 280,000 taking out another proto tank and random berries.
Next match he got 1st with 1900 wp and 490,000. I got 2nd with 1700 wp and 420,000 isk
Dose running proto effect the pay curve? |

Good point, one I believe we need Dev input on, as the formula provided above rings as what was claimed last time someone noticed an issue with payouts, perhaps a sticky about how payouts are calculated would be good as well.

I don't think it's a 1 for 1 with the isk value of the gear lost
I am not making money since the new matchmaking dropped

Had a match today where 7 gv.0's got popped, the top 10 people were all at 1600+ wps and every one of them got 450k+ isk. Which amounts to >6m on just the top 10 on the winning side. The losing side probably got maybe 4m of the total pool?

You don't earn the value of what *you* destroy directly it goes into the payout pool. I mean, if you take a 200k proto suit, and then divide up among 32 players 100% evenly, that 200k proto suit is worth 6250 isk to each player. Now if that was 60% to one side and 40% to the other, it goes to about 7500 to one side and 5000 to the other. This then mathematically weighted based on how many warpoints each player has earned relative to the others on their team and the time spent in match. Even people who *leave* matches earn something of the payout pool (even if it's as little as 20k).
So that one proto suit, may mean something like 11 000 isk to one player per time that 200k suit was lost.
The *only* constant among match types is their base payout pool, everything else is largely dependent upon your actions as a player.
a 60k suit (like a well fit advanced suit) divided evenly among 32 players is less than 2000 isk each.
So yeah, if there's a crapload of proto suits and vehicles that die payout will be huge provided you do well, if it's a crapload of basic or advanced suits, payouts can be significantly lower. Veteran players also tend to be massively risk averse which generally results in less suits lost! I mean I've been in matches where less than 40 clones on each side have died, in a match that lasts 20 minutes.

My point was that since matchmaking dropped there has been more proto in the matches i'm in, Proto on both sides which means more isk destroyed, and yet i've not seen a corresponding increase in payout (factoring in a similar performance)

Because no one has been stomping as hard juno. Payouts are a lot more even because the spread of warpoints is a lot more even among teams, very few people are getting the 'lions share' of the payout pool.

Welcome to Dust 514. You must be new here...
Seriously, ambush has always been a "proto bloodbath." We vets call it a "protostomp" or a "pubstomp"
A good remedy is using the squadfinder CCP gave you and attacking in a tactical, orderly manner. Ohh, and scans work too ;)

I'm with the OP, I don't care what anyone says. The payout system has some kind of bug.
I've been in battles that ended with nearly all 300 clones destroyed. Proto everywhere and gotten the 350K type payout.
Then I get the random one where it's a one sided stomp and get 600K.
