Matchmaking is working good , there are a lot of close fights but when this not happens its just because there are players from different region mixed in the same game, yesterday for example there was a squad from my corp each side but from my side thee was a south american squad and the enemy team had a japanese squad, framerate in that match didnt exist neither hit detenction. I hope this is going to be fixed somehow because i love to have good fights

No. We should never have region locks (I.e you can only play on your home server).
What CCP should do is force all clients to use the Automatic setting, and disable the option to change it. Let the matchmaker decide who should be playing who, and when. |

I will stop playng dust then, die becsuse a vet kills me seems legit but die because i shoot a load of my weapon and deal 0 damage is not fair, i'm not blind, i can shoot to a target but if he can stop my bullets play dust is senseless

Well, as far as I see it, today's system with manual selection of battle servers can (and is) abused.
The matchmaker tries it's best to match people with similar ping / latency based on the pool of people it has available. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2708855#post2708855
The problem is I can manually select Asia as a server (I live in EU), and "overrule" part of the matchmaker process. It has no option but to try and match my (relatively) crappy ping with the rest of the Asia players.

I understand what you say but i always have my server setted to EU except for some PC, but then why prople with an automatic server are in battles on EU server? I dont care about their ping being optimal for play on EU server but my squad( made mainly by 6 italians) cant play, now, we are EU players that cant play on our server, isnt this a bit ridicoulous?

Region lock will never happen.
The Oceanic community has no home server thanks to the rest of you the community using our region as an afk farm.
If this game becomes region locked the Oceanic community will have no where to go.

Well, no. Region locking (as in, not allowing players to play on anything but their local server) is of course impossible without CCP adding a lot more battle servers... but it's not like the current player numbers would support segregating the playerbase that much, not to mention the community not stomaching it, most likely.
However, if, IF, server selection was automatic and part of the matchmaking process (and not a setting the player could select), that A) doesn't mean the game would be "region locked" or B) some people would be unable to play at all. If the matchmaker decided the best possible server (based on ping to squad leader, or something like that, I'd assume), how would that mean people would be unable to play at all? There are other groups with no "home server", not just the Oceanic players. South America, for one, has no local server, as far as I am aware... If, for example, the NA server is the currently best option for some Oceanic players, I doubt that would change just because server selection was automatic.
Have you considered installing the improved keyboard?

If we had servers only set to Automatic, CCP could choose which one Oceanic mercs are best suited to So we all play on 'Automatic' setting, keeping players close to their correct server.... Yes it's only a sticky tape fix (we are a year into sticky tape fixes though) so would it be an option??
Something to improve the connection would be great, anything at this stage would be appreciated !!!
I would love to see - ONE SERVER = One Universe // One War every match would be fighting a new squad and adapting to a new tactic (rather than the same stat-padders time, and time again) with the small playerbase, it would fill activity and fix search times..
All at the cost of some lags (which 90% are well used to) to us And CCP working a miracle and getting either ONE SERVER working, or blow it up altogether
FW//PC are not region based for players to join, though they set to one region once deployed If ONE SERVER was working, they would run better.. peace would be restored.. all hail Rattati

If you lock it my aurum comes back if not then no.
Cross region are the "jumpers" then you got the " really fast movers", but once you get rid of one the local lag can be solved |

The problem is not your setting, or that people have Automatic setting (they should have IMHO). The problem is players that manually select a battle server which is far from them, to gain an advantage.

Server lag (ping, latency) is different to Client lag (low framerate).
Hit detection issues, those are connected to server lag, yes.
Looking at both sides of the coin.
Even Aurum one.

Players from different regions -can- cause some of the most unplayable lagfests of teleporting hell. I have also had games against players from other regions that ran smooth and sound and where latency was quite manageable.
I think it comes down to common sense, players with a similar ping of course can play together! However should we really be having Latin Americans, Asians and UK players all in the same battles? (That was one I had yesterday that was pretty laggy)

So would forced Automatic setting. Look, as far as I understand it, there is a subtile difference between region locking and Automatic setting. (Could be wrong though... Has happened before )
Region lock: You can only play your closest server (let say Asia), and you will only be matched with players on this server. If there are no matches / players available, tough... Close the game and do something else...
Automatic: You will automatically play your closest server, and will mostly be matched with players on this server. If there are no matches / players available, it goes to the next best server, and so on. |

Blaming the times that matchmaking goes a bit wrong on server selection is just funny.
Because it definitely has nothing to do with whole squads leaving battle still attempting to pad their K/D. Oh wait I forgot in the new matchmaking no one on your team AFKs or just plain gives up.
The bad matches I have seen were due to not having a single blueberry within 100m of the freaking objective (dom).
PRO TIP:
If you are one of those guys asking for region locks or one server just set your client to Asia server and do not change it back. You get what you want and we don't have to deal with that kind of stupidity gumming up the real matches. |

I will only support this idea if we get enough players to do that. There are just not enough players right now to accomplish that without experiencing a population problem in matches.
