I'm sure most of you know that a new matchmaking system was implemented today. I'd like to hear your thoughts.
The first Dom I played was an utter stomp. I was redlined (I haven't been redlined in months), and it ended as a 7v15.
Then I played Bush because I was peeved. Fairly close matches, I guess...
Finally, I played Skirm. These matches were surprisingly even, and there was even competition against a full FA squad.
Overall, some work needs to be done. There are issues with matches ending like 7v15, and finding a match can take 4+ mins. There is definitely potential though.
One thing's for certain though: I can kiss my 7.00 K/D and W/L goodbye...

I'd like to give my thoughts, but alas, I can't even try out the new system... What did they even base the matchmaking on, anyways?

Getting a lot of 7 v 9 , 12 v 7 matches. Other than that don't really notice a difference. |

Queues are 3-4 times longer for me and every match has around 20 players, very often stacked one side (ie. 8v12).
EDIT: After 6mins of queueing I just got thrown into a game of 4v8 that was near enough over as I entered.
Last night did provide a lot more even matches though I must say, although that could just be coincidence.

It's difficult to say the matches are stacked exactly.
Uneven in numbers, definitely.
But in terms of skill, i'm finding them pretty even when you consider the power behind certain individuals.
Usually banned for being too awesome.

True, but they have only played well for me in DOM and AMB. SKIRM needs more players to be enjoyable. Currently in a 4v9 4Obj match where reds are 3 tankers and 6 infantry. So we get 2 blues to an objective. Good luck with that! LOL.

It's ruined casual play it's either roll six deep gloves off or gtfo

That's it, I can't take it anymore. I have to go smoke and play another game. I can't be hanging around in factionesque queues just to play crappy matches that earn me virtually no SP (especially with 2x Active Omegas running) - pulling my hair out right now.

I feel it too, up against much stiffer competition now in skirm - still noticing significant variation in match difficulty but fights are on average tougher - most of the 1-v-1 fights have been against opponents who know how to fight.
Queue time has grown to ~ 2 minutes but that's ok if it gets us better matches.
Need more data but only criticism so far is the unbalanced number of players on the teams. Saw 4 and 5 merc teams last night, poor bastards.
My sweetheart was sitting next to me watching my last two matches of the night and said 'What's wrong? Normally you don't get beat up like that.'

Im unsure of how well its working. Seems to be the same as before but with less players to me, but I've played 5 games so I wont make that my final judgement.

So far, I would say that matchmaking is getting better primarily because I'm seeing players put more effort into trying the make the opposing team bleed despite looking like they're about to lose. Before that, it was simply watching a bunch of cowards dicking around doing nothing or AFKing in the MCC.
Nowadays, I feel like I'm being put into matches that are actually a little more fun despite my losses.
But the primary issue now, which seems to have recently come to light due to the matchmaking change, is seeing large groups of your own team bail out mid match when they encounter resistance or see that they're not able to stomp like they use to.

for some reason they keep putting a full team of japanese players on the other team and only 7 players on my team. this match makeing fells like some kind of sick trolly joke by CCP. but it is super nice out so screw this nonsense :).

Yup everyone I know is playing two or three games and saying screw this and logging off. The matches have been terrible. 6 vs 14? Seriously?
