I've tried over and over to adjust my controller to a better fit for me to aim better ,but nothing works. I'm faced against other players who seem like they have the perfect aim. I see a guy go 15-1,27-0,10-1,8-0, and so on. I just wonder am I the only one who loses so many gunfights? I also would like to know what could I do to aim better? |

set sensitivity to 100 and use the left analog to aim letting aim assist do the heavy lifting.

It is because some players are really good at slaying / aiming. Their brain memorizes muscle memory better than us and they think faster and aim better. Not a big deal. I'd say that if you want to try a sensitivity , try it for 3 days AT LEAST. I've struggled just like you until I managed to stay with one for a week , so your brain remembers how much you have to put the joystick for example to evade a bullet etc.
Mine is a 30/30 ADS : 70/70
Really good at CQC with any weapon and good at long range.

my sensitivity is 100 left/right 70 up/down
use it mostly to turn (its how come some players can do a 180 faster than you can blink)
then use side strafing to put your aim on target, always keep yourseelf aimed at shoulder height, depending on the weapon this is how you get headshots more oftin, change things up untill you get a feel for how much your weapon kicks upwards to get more headshots and more dps.

also aim before you even need to shoot, if your rounding a corner make sure your aims as if someone is going to be there, if your reasonably sure someone IS there, start firing as you leave cover to get a dps edge.
exelent advice. i would add maybe do fast look speed out of scope. but in scoped view set it fast side to side, but slow up and down for easy headshot adjustments mid fight. and remember to stafe to aim side to side when ads and only a small adjustment is nessesary.
also range and knowledge of the enemys presence is gold, try using a scanner to not only find and pick off easy prey, but to avoid the badasses or at least keep your optimal ranges right.

My sensitivity fluctuates between 40-65.
Stop worrying about your sensitivity, contrary to what people will tell you, it's better to find a sensitivity you're comfortable with than trying to use 100/100. Some people just prefer extreme accuracy over quick reaction.

Well the problem is that not everybody of that guys are good at aiming. Lots of them are using aim-assist.

1. Ignore posts above 2. You have to get used to it.
3. There are two types of players. These who started with controller and these who started with m&kb. Those who started with controller will adapt faster.
4. Look at number 2, you'll get it with time.

I know something you can do. Get yourself a controller with extremely jacked up toggles and practice playing with that.
Take my controller for example; I have worn my controller out so much neither of my toggles auto-center anymore. For me to aim, move, and look around I have to guide the toggles with my thumbs with extreme precision 100% of the time. I am going to purchase another controller in about a week or so (whenever my lazy ass decides to go to the store) and I am confident with a new controller my gun-game is going to increase substantially all because of my experience playing with the crap I have now.
My controller is actually perfect for AFKers because you don't need a rubberband for the toggles to prevent you from getting kicked for inactivity. You just press the toggle in any direction you want and it will stay in that direction until you move the toggle back to whichever position you feel like. |

Most weapons in Dust are extremely accurate from the hip; hipfire is more common than aiming-down-sights. The trick to learn to wiggle around while keeping your hipfire spray on target.

Many people will claim they got crazy skills , that it takes massive impulse reflexes and so on... but the true secret is.. leave the right analog the fk alone. only aim down site when target is a good distance and it's required.. just keep your cursor centered and strafe.. you will hit ****, if they bouncing all over the place and seen you first..well thats when it gets trickier and u have to rely on a little reflex... but often times if you got the jump on someone the staying centered and strafing wins... too often when trying tp aim with right analog you will oversite and miss.
It will require practice.. it's very impulsive to want to use the right analog every time, I find myself trying to do it all the time still even knowing that lol |
