I use a m-1 min scout. I just skilled into scouting. My skills are mainly focused on assault. I run a min scout with a cloak, zn-28 nova knives( I have the proto variant), and a rail rifle.( I also have the proto variant) When ever I manage to knife someone I usually get shot running away, even with the cloak on. Any tips?

Swing by the Barbershop(link). It would be helpful if you tell me your skill tree. I run scouts only. I have both proto Min and Gal scout. With the Min I think the CR is best to run with NK. Don't rush at people, you're easily spotted unless running damps on a min scout. Don't rely to much on cloak, its only good when crossing between cover but never near enemies. I usually wait or bait myself, most players will turn the corner chasing you and I hold a charge blade and kill them. Remember scouts don't play fair, they fight dirty. They lure people, they are back stabbers. Know how to pick your fights, if you can't get close enough run away or wait for the right time while being aware of you surroundings. Don't cloak in dark areas because you're highly visible believe it or not. I barely use my CR, I usually just my NK on a min suit, and best thing I can say is always move, pay attention to enemy movements. Hunt loners, if you see a red about to hack something let them think you're not there once they start hacking its end game for them.

also remember, you're a paperweight. Don't try to 1v1 ever unless you have really really good gun game. See usually if you run nova knives it's good to use a weapon that is both good at long to midrange and not useless Iin cqc. Which in this case the CR is your best option. Rail rifles are better for cal scouts because cal scouts are better at ranged combat than a minja is. Always try to spec into alpha damage weapons. Max out your cores first also. It's very important, I didn't know this at first until a friend from the barbershop explained it to me

My only tip is to never run anything lower than Ishukone nova knives if you can help it. I stopped using them once and it was awful.

The ZN's are decent
As someone who has had PRO knives for 5 months and no ISK, I've used ZN's for as long as I can remember. At 160 a swipe, it does about 640 compared to Ish's 800. For heavy targets, a charge and two swipes does it. Ish just increases alpha, or reduce swipe amount.

I have proto knives I just use ZN's for the sake of fitting cost.

Get them from behind, stack 2 adv. damage mods for sidearm damage increase. One charge swipe, then regular, and then shoot with a gun. Have kincats on and dampers so you can't be scanned

Wrong, damage mode have 0 place on an effective minja.

I mean you can if you're good at surviving, but it's kinda pointless to use them because scouts mainly use HIGH ALPHA DAMAGE weapons.

This is good info, I run minja i'm speced proto in everything for it. ill have to try the knife thing once again I gave up on it!

It is harder now than it has ever been (minus Alpha to Charlie) thanks to EWAR changes.

Plan on dying a lot, or stick to solo targets.
