Hi,
My wife and I made the mistake of creating characters on the same account. that means that we cannot play together using using our main characters. Our work around was to create a third character which i am now leveling it up. The catch is that my main character is leveled up with most skills (drop suit skill and many weapons and suits) leveled to 5. The new character well, it needs a lot of work and its frustrating not being able to be as versatile on the battle field. For example, there is a serious lack of uplinks being dropped. I never noticed before because I was the one dropping them. The new character doesn't have drop links yet. Its in the schedule of things to get which translate to about a month worth of work.
Anyways, long story short. Will it be possible at some point to trade characters? I would like my wife's character to go to her alternate account. God forbid we get divorce. How is that going to play out in court?!?! |

 LOL, nice post Luna! I didn't plan to be contributing on the forum today, but your thread caught my eye, and I had to say how cool your topic was.
I tried to get my sweetie to continue playing Dust, but it was too aggravating for him, and I'm on my own in this game. It can be frustrating to have a buddy who just can't keep up with what you are doing, or is too vulnerable to go into the danger zones you feel need to be attacked in order to win the match.
SP is what makes all of that possible, and (sadly) SP is the one component of the game I don't think the devs will ever allow to be bartered or traded from mercs who have surplus to mercs who need 'em. (Not even in valid "same account" situations like yours)
But I'd love to see a happy ending to your plight. I seriously (NO, SERIOUSLYGǪdo it ) suggest you send a private request to CCP, and ask them to make a special consideration for you. Making two separate accounts might be of great benefit to them or to Sony in ways we players might not be aware of. And it allows one happy player in the game to suddenly become TWO happy players in the game.
CCP has been known to take special situations and calamities under consideration, and help out an individual player here or there when it seemed a valid unique-situation.

I can only recommend filing a petition but even then I wouldn't count on it. At least not in the immediate future and this is NOT something people in the community would consider as priority given the current state of the game.
Eve Online does offer a Character Bazaar where players can buy/sell character to another player. I think CCP also offer Eve players a chance to have a character transferred to another account held by the same player. But again, this is not priority for Dust and I doubt a petition would help.

Quite a few months back I submitted a ticket in regards to this issue but, tat feature of transferring character is not available. I think this is becoming less of an issue now because with the daily missions and higher weekly cap it is easier to level up a character. |

I 100% support this idea as an Eve player, and as an Eve player I would tell you the cost to transfer a character from one active account to another *is* (should be) 2 plex. This would be easier for CCP with One Client to Rule them All.
By that I mean on the PC and 100% under CCP control. As a closed beta player I have more than one character as well that I would like to play and have passive SP gain on both or even give him to a friend so he could play that toon or this one because he likes the game and is a great team mate in other games, he has even said on multiple occasions that he should start one and I agreed with him, just stacking SP away would get him where he wants to be after a while.
But all this has its own issues, the trade of characters, value of them and what to charge and if out of game trading is ok or not. CCP does not allow out of game trading of characters for EVE so it is unlikely they would for Dust. Values of characters would likely be based solely on SP and Assets, tools to determine this are incoming hopefully, but ultimately itis what you feel the character is worth.
Simple trading, COMING SOON tm will help move this process along, I hope as would Porting Dust to the PC, giving CCP the tools to make this possible.

I'd be in favor of a SP transfer only if original character is biomassed. I've wanted to combine my vehicle character and my infantry character forever.
I love the smell of orbital support in the morning!!!

Nah, I say let the player transfer the character between accounts like how Eve players do it. It has been working well for Eve Online so far.
