So don't give it too much thought...

That trailer dates back to just before Uprising IIRC. Amarr Heavies existed back then, heck they were among the first suits in DUST.

Because CCP weren't paying attention to detail, that's the long and short of it.
I don't even think the people who made those trailers belonged to the Shanghai studio, it was probably made by the EVE guys who probably had no clue that a medium frame would get blasted off its feet by a Forge Gun.

No. The trailer was around Open Beta time, and for a long long time before that, there was already Amarr heavy, Minmtar logi, and Gallente scout. For some weird reason they only showed Caldari assaults in the trailer. They even had the mass driver in the trailer, which at the time was still a relatively new addition.
There was really no good reason for the Caldari assault to have a forge gun in the trailer.
