After a lot of play time in my tanks I've come to a few conclusions.
First, shield tanks are in a good place with tank cries being the optimal choice forcing team work to maintain dps and survivability. Howerever, armour tanks can stack damage mods with hardners for max survivability and dps sacrificing very little. A solo maddy with a proto blaster if far more effective. This I believe creates an extreme imbalance between the two. Any thoughts on this? |

Shield tanks need more utility modules for low slots.
However, they are in a good place as of now. They were never supposed to be frontline fighters like they were. Out-range the maddies and you win.

Clearly not a tanker? Great feedback. They are in a good place as av can still fight them but you can dominate the map if you're a good tanker. Maddies are op and need toned down slightly. I can easily get 3-4k wp in my gunlogi. |

My damage modded particle cannon barely scratches those proto Maddies, and they come up to me and kill me in a few seconds of blaster fire. Maddies and large blaster are OP. They were almost in a good place before Echo reared its ugly head.

That's because you can fit 2 hardeners, 2 reps, dmg mod, nitro injector [all complex, if you have maxed skills you should use heavy reps] and ion cannon without any problems.
Bring back active rep modules, nerf current reps. Everyone would be happy.

What I mean is that the gunlogi is in a good place, it can rule the field if you're a good tanker. I don't use damage mods go for durability and my 3 seater can own a maddy. I don't think the solution is to buff the gunlogi because I don't think the infantry would appreciate a triple rail tank running around invincible. Instead the maddy should be brought down to where the gunlogi is as I can efficiently mow down anything in my path already. The maddy however can have a solo pilot and put out more dps with the same durability. By toning down the maddy the gunlogi would be a more viable option. Simply because maddy is op doesn't make the gunlogi worthless. But like I said, it currently takes a triple rail to compete with a solo maddy and that is where the problem lies. |

Regulator "like infantry" and it goes in a high slot? WTF!
Put the reg in the low. Shield tanks still have to decide on running a cpu or pg to fit high mods or run less highs and go reg.
Btw is the reg doing anything for anyone?

Btw is the reg doing anything for anyone? The regulator is gong to be moved to the low and the dispersion mod to the high. That much has already been stated somewhere but I forget where. |

Btw is the reg doing anything for anyone? I honestly think that it is useless. I would not give up a CPU/PG mod for a reg. I need TWO complex regs to reduce my regular recharge delay by two seconds, which really is an extra ~250 shield. In those same 4 seconds that I get 250 shield, an armor HAV would have gained at least 1000 armor if it has double reps.
The shield recharge rate Nerf was completely unnecessary, and if a regulator allowed for constant and uninterruptible shield regen, only then I'd consider fitting a reg over anything else. Oh and their fitting costs are way too great as well.

A non damage modded triple rail Gunny will get melted by my triple rail maddy. Not even a contest. A dual damage modded and heat sinked gunny can win against a Maddy as long is it can choose its engagement range and there are no enemy dropships around that will decimate it. Shield regen is too low, eHP is too low for it to even attempt to try to brawl. Add in the lack of gun depression and there are plenty of situations where a rail gunny can't even shoot back at the maddy that is killing it.
A solo maddy will get JLAV'd if the enemy has any sense at all. Sprinkle some buffer on a Quafe LAV and you get a vehicle that can last just long enough against blaster fire to make its delivery. And since you only have to touch a tank to set it off, it is super simple for even the most fervent of mouth breathers to perform.
Every tanker needs a gunner or two, and that is great for tanking as an overall role in the game, but there is no such thing as an invincible tank. Every tank build can be taken down by a single player, no matter the build. People who claim otherwise just aren't trying.
Anyone calling the Maddie OP isn't a tanker, they are an AV scrub who wants to plink at enemy tanks with a rail from their own redline because they lack the fortitude to actually get up in a blaster tanks zone of influence to deal with it.
Good tanker versus good AV player is a coin flip for who wins. Good tanker versus regular dust pubbie is a massacre because most dusties are bad.

Armor Tanks are in a solid spot, You lack the PG and CPU to fit the BEST of the BEST Mods, you are vulnerable even with a hardener and double reps, to 2 Guys running Swarms.
Shield tanks need more PG and CPU, hell both tanks do, this Idea that a 1 million+ ISK tank fit should not be able to fit the absolute best mods, while 150k+ Dropsuits can, is foolish. |

The problem is your two damage mod is like one hardener. While the triple rail helps because of added damage to those I still don't find this fit very good and have one that will tear it up. And what exactly are you repping? 900 armour? Best try to fit a plate instead. Also replace damage mod with heat sink and see how much more those small rails spit out. Much more effective that the nerfed damage mods. |

Still not true, as hp was never a factor in blowing the LAV, earlier today a guy bumped constantly into my tank, each time I moved forwards, eventually turning my turret round to blow it up.
You still gotta ram it home to set it off, but now you gotta make sure you don't jump over the top (easy to do with the madruga's sloped backside) because then you'll just blow up when you hit the ground. |
