I've been playing this game for about 1.5 years now. Under a different character name though. My assessment is that there are a bunch of D***s that play this game that are unwilling to help a newbie out, when I asked squads for help I was kicked for being new. Luckily there were some decent people who helped me out, after deleting my old character though. Now I feast on the tears of protos with my Kaal sniper LOL. CCP can we get better support in the academy for new players. Leave them in longer and teach them about the subtle differences between weapons. I spent SP on every light weapon to get a grasp on their uses. See I proto'ed on snipers, yay, and to help my teammates I proto'ed on HMG. And you guys rendered my favorite weapon, the assault HMG useless. Smh. Now I'm having to specialize in something else....... |

Play as gallente scout with a shotgun or as minmatar with nova knives. I'm a gk.0 scout and mk.0 and my average is at least 35 kills per match.
70/5 with a Creodron Shotgun!!! PRO SHOTGUNNING :)

Several things.
1) They are looking to limit the Academy on an SP per account basis, and not simply SP per merc. At the very least, this will mean that people will have to create whole new accounts to troll the Academy, and those simply wishing to create an alt won't have to go through that experience.
2) CCP is also considering meta locked game modes, which will significantly help the new player experience.
3) Matchmaking has been worked on, and we think they have stealth implemented it to see how it works live in game. Hopefully this will also give new players a better experience than what used to be.

New players should join Learning Coalition chat where their questions will be answered with respect and patience.
If you see anyone abusing new players in Learning Coalition chat, mail Renier Gaden (my EVE character) with the relevant information including names and what was said. I have the power to ban people from Learning Coalition chat if they are being too abusive.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

A while back I came up with this idea, for experienced players to volunteer to take squads of newbs out , and give them advice of how to train your books, what fits you may like best for your play style, and how to run the maps. That's about as far as I got with it

People already do that in Learning Coalition chat. It would be great if you could help out. Always good to get new Vets in the channel. The channel was setup so that people wanting to do stuff like this would have a place to meet new players that need help. (I focus much of my time on getting new players into the channel so you guys who want to give back to the community have people to teach.)
