Much better to port to PC. CCP is more familiar with PC than with ps4 and also they have Sony to deal with so it's much more difficult to port to ps4
How many amarr does it take to change a light bulb? none. The minmatar do it for them

There are quite a lot of ps4 games already and really popular ones too. COD,battlefield,etc. Player base of consoles though have a larger proportion of children where as the PC edges towards the older population which can help dust since it has quite the learning curve. Children play games and want to be rewarded instantly. Something dust doesn't do. Dust rewards you or playing long enough and being good enough at the game, like eve for example

They have to make a good game first.
If they port it in this condition it won't succeed. It would be more effective and cost efficient if they make sure they get the formula right first before porting it to the PS4, or else the first impression they make will be horrible and it will turn out to be a waste of money.

Yes new console with a flood of triple A titles about to come pouring out in the next 6-8 months. You guys act as if moving to PS4 is copy/paste and can happen overnight. If they were to start porting now it is most likely that it will be finished right in the middle of the flood of new titles that are on their way leaving Dust with nothing but the few players that moved up to PS4.
If you think Dust is full of bugs now just wait until you see it poorly ported to PS4. |

I think you need to broaden your definition. By your definition the Playstation 2 would be a dead console, however Gamestop just announced recently they were taking them as trade ins again because the demand was so high.
Let me repeat that. The Playstation 2, as in two generations ago, is still in demand.
The PS3 has a long life ahead of it yet, and game system life span isn't as cut and dried as you would think.

The ONLY reason the PS2 is back in demand, is because you can install every game ever made for FREE on it. I have almost 250 games on mine, 1000gb hard drive. Its a great starter system for the kiddies. |

And the PS3 can play games from the PSN store that you have to use the stupid PS Now in order to play on the PS4 (assuming the game is even available). Not to mention the entire PS3 library.
Those two reasons alone are reason enough for many to still own PS3s and use them for years to come.
So long as revenue for any game exceeds its operating costs, there will always be incentive for game developers to continue supporting that product.
Game makers aren't in the habit of turning down sources of revenue.

It's also a really good media station it's cheaper than the average blue ray player does more and doubles as a half assed (highly limited codec compatibility) media streamer
has a **** load of games on psn library ..
i have 4 and 2 are backwards compatible with big hdd and upgraded cooling fresh nice reball good to last another decade and they have so many ******* fucking between the two if them ..ones all for ps2 n ps1 the other ps3 ..hdd games only
Then I have my two slims for dust not dying anytime soon either i never play dust on the same machine for more than 4 hours .
The reason is because dust pushes the ps3 to its limit my phat can't run it efficiently I have a CPU and GPU heat reader and dust WILL FRY FAT PS3S In the hands of a no lifer ..iT even pushes the higher powered slim
While the ps3 is far from dying it IS NOT strong enough for dust to grow or even operate effectively ..This game lowers the life of ps3s..Both of those phat where yloded..by dust 514..i can't play it on them they will start overheating within a few hours ..mind you i play bf4..on those fine heat average
It should be ported to ps4..

Porting a broken game to a new system won't make said game not broken.
Putting it on PS4 at this point would honestly shoot them in the foot. The cost alone would hurt, but then this game would be received EXACTLY as it was on PS3...with thunderous humiliation in the face of its competition.

CCP Rattati only has a small team. If we went with your idea, the PS4 will likely be last-gen by the time Dust is ready for porting.

is that for all systems or just PC though? a lot of time there are different licenses between the two.
not only that though Sony still have to allow th egame to be distributed on the system. CCP can make DUST/Legion for the system but if Sony don't allow it then there isn't anyway of going round it. the easiest way with no hassle is via thier own webpage and their own client in the same way as EVE
