That sounds pretty good, I hope they get, that moving a mediocre shooter to PC, where it will have stunning competition by Star Citizen, is not the smartest move.
As a free to play shooter with EVE ties on the PS4, it has the chance to get a small but steadyly improving project, that evolves over time. |

You know... as for FPSes, the most competitive field (sales wise) for them is actually on the console, so for "competition wise" I really don't understand your logic. On the PC it should have an "easier" chance.
It's the setting, on PC there will be Star Citizen, and if you check that out, you will know, that Dust has absolutely nothing that is even closely competitive to that!
On console however, the setting and connection to EVE are unique. If Valkyrie hits the PS4, there will be a good chunk of people interested in other stuff from the franchise.

Star Citizen is still vaporware in my eyes. People are hyping it up so much and yet we have yet to see if it can make it out of development hell. When Star Citizen launches, then you can start debating it's competitiveness in the market. Yeah, I'm excited about Star Citizen, but our Lord and Savior Chris Roberts has made several comments that have struck me with fear and doubt. He may deliver a great squad based PvP shooter...within certain limits, like 8v8. For whatever reason, 16v16 might be too difficult. 64 player FPS meyhem may be out of the question.
What I'm looking forward in that franchise is IMMERSION, something that EVE and Dust lack in such a big way. If you see the trailer for Dust or the annual EVE clips for the expansions, they are all shiny. But if you join the games, it's all rather dull.
SC however, even the small glimpse you can have right now looks so much better and plays so much cooler than klickedeeklick EVE or last gerneration Dust stuff. You will have everything in one game, Spaceships FPS and a seamless connection of the two.
Dust has missed the biggest chance when they Fuped the launch, and couldn't deliver on their promises. They still have a chance to improve, and I think hellmar should give The Rat all the resources he can spare to improve Dust and prepare for PS4 port. |
