We don't even know if the hire for AI was for Legion or Dust let alone Nemesis.

A new player queries Rattati on the difficulty of learning the game and points out there is no safe place to learn, and Rattati says that they're working on a basic drone gamemode.
He does say no promises though, so take this with a grain of salt.
They didnt specify what type of drones they were. After watching the EVE keynote, they left with an eerily disturbing lore focused video of an incoming threat. Is it jovian? Not sure that those "Sleepers" are but they might be bringing trouble not just in space, but on the planets as well.
Someone help me understand this please. I dont know much about eve, but it looked pretty cool. Like a threat to immortality.

EVE Online Fanfest 2015 Trailer: Emergent Threats: https://youtu.be/s3060a8NkOkSo like if the drones were taken control of by these threats, then it would give background as a reason to face these hords. Then I could imagine after simple testing, there could even be an eventual level based strike mode. He mentioned 32 player gamemodes for these drone strikes, meaning that all 32 mercs would be working together to face it. Keeping it a friendly user experience. Tanks, logis, AV, Heavies and Assaults all working in tandem and all firing in the same direction. It could be a slight cause to bring long rivals together for a greater cause, and maybe even bring in some sweet loot. For instance, a high level strike could involve a team having to move in to a drone infested location, clearing it out, to come to find out that they were guarding officer weapons and/or strongboxes/keys. Not to be like destiny here, but imagine if there were daily missions for the PvE seperate from the PVP. (Vanguard/crucible) :) Im sure new players WOULD LOVE the options for that.
I would imagine something like a horde-style mode where all 32 players have to survive as long as possible with what little clones they have left against a constantly-respawning wave of drones. But I think that kind of mode is best left to veterans who have the skills to deal with that. Entry-level players should only have to face basic AI that are limited in numbers so that the new players have a chance to learn.

That sounds like an excellent starter solution to engage the new players. |

To me it didn't sound like true PvE, but almost like a training mode.
Unless there is more to it than what was described in the video, it sounded to bare bones to be a true PvE mode for Dust.

Even if it's bare bones, it's a start. Like I said earlier, Rattati wants to implement as many features as possible but in their basic form so they can be built up over time rather than just delay them because of complexity.
