A look at how much fun we had before Hotfix Echo. This video is humorous in nature, and meant to show the personalities riding in the tanks as much as the tanks themselves.
What are your opinions about the new tanks? Love them, hate them, getting mowed down by them?

lmao Sounds like me. Blasters were sooo bad back then.

Glad you liked it.
I wouldn't say shield hardeners are terrible now. They've been toned down sure, but I think they are still effective. Once shield regulators get figured out, I think shield tanks will be in a good place.
You don't have to agree with me, but that's how I feel after these first few days.

The function in almost exactly the same way as they always have. In fact currently shield HAV have greater eHP values than they have ever had. Shield hulls are currently better than they were before...... turrets sure have changed though.
Agreed. Shields are perfectly viable, and armor is now crazy good. I'm glad that both sides have reason to be happy.

JIMvc2 wrote:There should be two typed of blasters.
The one we had before = Good blasters against Infantry
the ones today should be called Breach Blasters and they are good against other tanks.
It seems that the TTK with the blasters now = It seems good.
The way a rail gun over heats only for 2 shots = Very unfair.
I thought it was three shots till overheat... Either way, slap a heatsink on and watch those problems disappear.

I like shield tanking a gunnie, and I don't see the hardeners as crap, I've been using them to pretty good effect. Ofc Maddie's are in a better place right now, but they are too slow for my taste.
Beta tanks were on a whole different level, but sadly, my recordings don't go back that far

I really like the return (well, most of a return) to active module usage, and seeing new modules is lovely. The only new module is the shield regulator, which should be a low slot mod. Regulators and dispersion mods are being moved to the proper slots. Currently I find I have to run two gunners in small rails to compete with a well fit mady but my gunners and I have fun. I find it hard to run more than one complex hardner on an adv cal tank but my proto is a beast able to fit all complex mods and guns. For the dramatic change they made I don't think they did a terrible job at balancing tanks but obviously tweaks will have to be made.
I'm just really glad we have options now. I can choose to run advanced if I'm alone or bring out the proto stuff if I have friends riding with me.

Foundation Seldon wrote:So I'm looking to do tank squads. Do you guys tank squad regularly? Is there a public channel for setting up tank squads?
I tank all the time, and almost always have room for a gunner. We are by no means a vehicle corp, but we do know how to have fun

Want a cheaper tank? Try running advanced. A much lower price while retaining nearly as much punch as the super expensive proto variants. Basically, skilling into vehicle optimization skills will not only make you a better vehicle user, but it will help you save ISK too.
