This game was pitched as Mercs in Spaaace. And even though the game struggled initially a Merc could make a profit. Cause everybody knows a Merc that is losing money is a sucker. When you are making a profit you feel good. You are willing to experiment, try new things (which will get ganked retroactively - but that is a different post) and spending some ISK/AUR isn't painful. When you're running at a loss - well, where is the fun in that?
I used to buy boosters and various packs - although I never got the armor pack because back then the armor was iffy. And the included shield versions were junk, IMHO.
I have plenty of ISK. I still have AUR in my account. I don't see any reason to spend the AUR. I used to spend AUR to encourage the devs, give them some support. Now? Not so much. Well - not at all. My AUR is staying in the bank.
No matter how I spin the wheel I only have a few ways to make a profit in Dust514 and they aren't fun.
I gave Echo a try. And, out of more than a dozen matches two were fun. Two.
Not good odds, my fellow Mercs. Not good at all.
No, I will not give you useless leeches any ISK or AUR - ever. Go whine to your mama.
My favorite tank is a Lightning. Just sayin.

I re-read your post. What are you trying to say? "We should be isk efficient and make a profit!" but in the end you are merely talking about how you are not currently enjoying the game. I am sorry that you are not enjoying the game and if that is the case, I would suggest taking a break from the game. If you decide to return, perhaps you can find enjoyment in it again. If not, oh well, I hope you enjoyed the ride up to now.

I took a break also for a few months and came back to find allot of new content (sadly no new game modes T.T
This games major good point is customization of how u set up ur suits which is what ive loved the most and what keeps bring me back if u wanna stay grounded and be a tough but slow unit u can if u wanna forfeit some of that for speed or intel u can. With this new update mobility is now added to cal and min suits to make up for lack of hp which can make u fragile or can make u a now more tactful and more dangerous unit if ur skills match ur gun game (which is why people are pissed about echo update cuz now they have to be more aware). All in all u say ur done but ur posting in forums which means your either looking for sympathy and being a child and lashing out. Or ur fed up with the way things are like many others myself included a I can suggest is try new styles of playing or give the game a break come back in a while with sp and maybe new updates waiting for u. U might be suprised that this game even though graphics n community annoying at times has its awesome core mechanic going for it. |

We're moving away from that identity lately. We're coming more of our own making our own decisions and not needing corporations to tell us how high to jump anymore; we jump the way we want to!

Aw, baby come lately. The best version of Dust was Chromosome. 
Before that CCP would send email to let us know when the servers would be up, then we players would stress test them.
'Get gud' is not a Dust joke, tweep*. It is a common phrase uttered in many FPS games. Most often by twitchers of limited skoooling.
* tweep is the sound the wind makes as it whistles through an empty skull.

I have been on a break since last September. The same time that DustCharts shows a significant drop in player counts, BTW. My friends left at the same time and I just now came back. To Echo. Wow - the excitement nearly ... words fail me.
I am having fun now; in Dark Souls, PS 2 (on PC unfortunately  ) and there are many games to get involved with. But I missed being a Merc in Dust. My friends were the only reason I played over this last year. Not for the game itself.
I posted because I was thinking about what was fun back in the Beta (how ever many releases before Chromosome). A lot of it was the basis of the game. We were Mercs, fighting for profit and/or personal belief ... but it was fun. Now, it has a lot more F2P grind in it. The old grind was better, for me. Buy a pack, get some boosters and hang out with your friends. Blow stuff up.
Buying AUR was the point, Joseph. That is how I supported them and the game.
Let's not be confused about my opinion regarding @CCP Rattati. He has done an amazing job. The game is decidedly better than it had spiraled down to. He makes promises and he attempts to fulfill them. They don't always turn out (IMHO) but he keeps in communication and that alone is a major improvement.
I would love for some of the ancient bugs to be fixed. And for the balancing attempts not be massive roller coaster rides. I switched to tanks because Logis got ganked. Tried ADS because HAVs were on the short stick.
But ... I think it would be a lot more fun playing a Merc that could make a living. I know it used to be.

Annnndddd I have 100 of each of my adv suits, same with my basics, and at least 30 to 40 of "fun" or "goofy" suits by suits I mean fits ..
Not to mention over 50 lav fits, 30 DS fits, and 10 to 20 of each lav fit, after restocking these to the numbers I like to keep em near at the end of my playing, I still make profit.. Not a crapton mind you for I am not the best, (I spend to much time having fun in all honesty) but it's always profit!!..
I don't know how good you are, nor will I pretend to, but if you are losing isk, you are not doing something right, its extremely easy to keep the isk to the positive even for this noob |

I can run a profit, it is just stupid boring F2P grinding. Money isn't my problem. I have over 350M ISK. So big deal, I could lose 1M everyday and play all year. I have hundreds of tanks and plenty of suits. 50M SP and they just removed some from my account - I have no idea why, just changing levels in the skill tree as far as I can guess.
Every HFFH (Hot Fix From Hell) ganks something else that I have SP/ISK/AUR invested in. Now I look up at some twitch 20m in the freaking air popping me because of what exactly? Is this game balance or is this how CCP wants the game to be played? Cause it sucks. Is this a screw up painted after the fact as innovative game play? I have yet to find a post explaining the logic behind the myofib or a definitive statement saying it will be fixed.
Titanfall has jump jets and they have a counter. Everybody has jump jets. Of course they have wall running too. That is cool.
Planetside 2 Light Assault troopers have two different jump jets (although I have yet to find a good reason for drifter jets). But their snipers change choose their own scopes so be ready to duck if you are up high. Cause OHK by sniper is the default death for that scenario. Or a missile barrage from a fighter or a gunship.
IWS was blathering on, as only IWS can , about Dust not being about Mercenaries anymore. Fine. What is it about then? My search found nothing published. Maybe it was a fever dream. I have no idea why I even read his post, I have never agreed with his previous trolling on the forums anyway.
Thanks for trying. I have been giving Echo a try but it is a solid disappointment. Three of my friends dropped by but nobody returned. The only response I got was laughing at me for trying.
