Currently im looking to get back dropships (im currently skilled into incubus and armor but thats not fun) how good is the python and how offten will i be loosing them??

Any slight bump causes your Python to "spontaneously" combust.

Basic Afterburner OR Complex Shield Hardener (if you know you're gonna kill that swarmer/AV)

Mmm,i have python lvl 1 and Zero INTO missiles is that a problem or can I go on without having to get lvl 3 python??

You can, but you'll have to pick your shots with the slower rate of fire on missles.
Militia and STD missles give infantry a light kiss... whereas the PRO slap harder than a pimp.

I wish I could like the pythons flight mechanics over the bus. That increased rocket RoF would be pretty nice. Damn thing turns so slow, and the momentum never shifts. |

The 2nd best fit in the game is:
XT
Cplx PG
Cplx AB
Enh Heavy extender
Cplx Light extender
This has more than enough health to handle most AV and if you're smart with it, you'll only get killed if you really get stuck. Don't bother with hardeners, I don't even know if they'll fit since they increased their fitting cost, but they sacrifice too much hp for too long of a downtime, plus need to be used before you take damage or else you're dead.
The best fit is my secret. :D

First: Don't get the Caldari ADS skill up until much later. The bonus is of extremely limited use and your earlier SP will be far better spent on Small Missiles and Core skills.
Second: Without high tier modules be prepared to lose quite a lot of Pythons, and therefore ISK.
Third: Get Small Missiles. On a dropship they are the most effective at engaging infantry since Blasters are terribad (fixing the update might help, but that's an unknown right now) and Rails are only effective against vehicles after some flying experience has been generated.
One fit I like, personally:
Missile
Two Hardeners
Biggest Extender possible
PG mod in the low (unless not needed, in which case a Regulator if possible.)
- Good for having a short period of high resilience. If you know a location has AV nearby but you want to go on station then slap on both Hardeners as you enter that airspace then leave when you're at about 80% through your uptime.

Extender, hardener, booster, pg upgrade.
Personally though, Incubus handling is far superior.
