Remove AFK timer booting players out of battles

Banjo Robertson Random Gunz RISE of LEGION 483	Posted - 2015.03.14 23:21:00 - [1] - Quote Since there have been changes to how SP is earned, with veteran players not getting any SP unless they reach a certain WP threshold, I think its only fair to now remove the AFK timer from booting people out of the game, it seriously makes it hard to like... put the game down when you really need to go somewhere else in the middle of a battle and come back without being booted out. Yeah sure people could abuse afking again, but it won't be as good as it was before or they'd at least need to earn some WP before doing it. Its just kind of an inconvenience to the people who don't abuse afking.

This, unless the match has been in progress for too long. No one is going to do anything amazing in 4 seconds after initial spawn.

Very true. Plus it is actually very easy to immediately throw an uplink down at the beginning of an Ambush match and then run off to AFK and still earn enough WP to get SP for that match. Since the WP minimum was put into place I have not seen a drop in the number of people AFKing. Instead I just see a bunch of people get screwed out of SP even though I witnessed them trying to make something happen in the match.

When you need to step away from the game wrap around the 2 sticks while in the redline and presto no more afk boot. Just be sure to get your 150 wp first in case you don't make it back before match ends or else there was no need to afk in the first place. I do this often when match starts with other team getting all objectives in less then 5 min with proto stompers. There are two different timers for being booted out of a match, one very long timer for when you are on the spawn screen and selecting your dropsuit and spawn location, the other is when you are deployed in battle. I find the deploy screen timer to be long enough for me to do whatever i usually do when I go away, but the in battle timer is much much shorter, people still go afk but they usually put a rubber band around their controller so they spin in a circle while they're away. I'm never away for too long to make me a null factor in the battle, and I think other people in general are not wanting to leave their team mates down by being gone for too long. But some times you just gotta leave for one to three minutes or so and come back.
